Your favorite Coaster Station House

I was at SFGADV today and got on Batman for the first time in a year. I forgot how neat the inside of the Q is when you are loading on to the train. You know with the giant Batman Logo. Its got me thinking, what is your favorite Station House/Q line. My top 3 would have to be

Alpengiest

Dueling Dragons

Flying Unicorn at IOA.

If this topic gets closed I apologize before hand.

Thanks,
DMC

I like Zonga's long shed. ((((SIKE)))
I would have to say FOF...

Fate is the path of least resistance.

  • Montu - love going out over the gators before the lift
  • Millennium Force - the lights in there are really cool at night, plus I like the music
  • Wildfire - all the Doc Harris's patents and blue prints make an interesting wait
  • Orient Express - the huge murals were really cool and then the tunnel to the lift
  • Space Mountain - it's so the 70s. :)

I could go on and on, but that's enough.

Another vote for FOF, but I've not been on the ones you listed, except Batman @ Great America, and I liked it as well. Kinda felt like I was on my way to an illegal rave(this was pre-removing of scenery in 1999). *** Edited 7/31/2004 4:49:30 AM UTC by TeknoScorpion***
Whats FoF? Mine is proabably is

There is Dueling Dragons and then there is a everybody else.

Shoutouts to Space Mountain, Rock and Roller Coaster, and Flight of Fear.

While it may not be elaborate, I think a picture of the Wicked Twister station at night standing in the pavilion area is very picturesque.

Montu's queue and station are also memorable.

Kennywood's Racer comes to mind, as well as Lakeside's Cyclone, for my favorite stations

Chalk one more vote up for the Lakeside Cyclone. Just a classic look with all of the neon. I love the Hulk station for it's pulsating music and safety movie with Bruce Banner. It just gets me fired up to ride. The X station was mememorable with all of the techno music and large size of the station. It just seemed like an event, everytime the train pulled into the station.
It does seem like an event when the train pulls into the X station... unfortunately it seems like it's only an hourly occurance. ;)
Here's my personal top 5:
  1. Thunderhead
  2. Alpengiest
  3. FOF
  4. Batman
  5. CHAOS (R.I.P.)

Flying over metal is a beautiful thing! TNcoasterman
My four favorites:

Lightning Racer--beautiful!

The Beast--I love the building, plus the ride ops can really have fun up there.

Space Mountain (WDW)--I forgot how cool it was until Swoosh mentioned it. I love the music and the asteroids.

Magnum XL 200--cool architecture, especially the part right over the track.

More good ones:

Kennywood Racer, Boulder Dash, Ghostrider, Revolution, Batman (GAm)

Current? Dueling Dragons!

Former The Beast with all it's theming and signage, Back before the lake was left to stink.

Chuck

Rock'n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith ;)

Hersheypark: The Sweetest Place on Earth!
Magnum's station creates a short line for my favorite seat. The Holiday World stations look great on the outside, but are so stuffy inside. FoF would be cool if they put AC in there and turned it up. DD is way too long of a walk and it is overrated. MF is cool with the music and lights. Volcano's station usually creates a reasonable wait for the first seat, and that recorded voice is priceless. Thunderhead had the fly-thru, but more importantly, you know you are about to get on Thunderhead making your stay in the station that much better.
Pretty uch all of Disney's and Universals stations have unique looks to them, so it is pretty hard to choose, so I'll jsut leave it at that.
There is no competition with Dueling Dragons. If you have never seen the station for Dueling Dragons you are missing the greatest design for a station ever.

The Only Thing Worst Then Dieing, Is Living And Having Nothing Worth Dieing For.
King Kong, simply because it smelled like bananas.

How the crap did we make it this far w/o a mention of the TOS? And a mention of the search function? What has happened to coasterbuzz? It's like we're actually discussing coasters now! :P

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

Even though this thread breaks the TOS rules that comment Michael Darling made about X makes this topic worth while. That really got me cracking up laughing.

Correct me if I'm wrong Billiam, but Swoosh, I think the gators were 86'ed a while back. I don't remember them in December. :( *** Edited 7/31/2004 4:37:10 PM UTC by Homey G.***
