Your crowning/memorable moment for 2003.

With the forums being slow lately and the new year coming, I was wondering what everyone's favorite moment was this year. It could be anything from a crazy coaster ride to waiting in line for 4 hours to ride TTD in the blazing sun! So what was your most memorable moment for 2003?

Mine was riding TTD in the second row!

Thanks,
DMC

Mine was introducing my boy to his Great-Grandmother but, you know, riding coasters is fun too.

Rolling back on Dragster, and seeing Larry break 200 rides this year. Those 2 stick out in my mind as far as coasters go. As far as parks/events, IAAPA was definitely memorabe. and I can't forget getting to Disneyland/DCA (and Knott's, too) and WDW, both for my first time this year.

*edit* Who can forget Robb and Elissa's EPCOT party?

Mine was definitely riding Top Thrill Dragster in under an 2 hours and experienceing a two for the price of one ride on it. Best ride I've been on this year ALong with getting one of the first rides for Superman: Ulitmate Flight before the General Public and getting the free season pass and Autographs of Celebrities thanks to Six Flags Great Adventure.

The future is in your hands!
Mine was looking out into the endless ocean from the deck of a cruise ship, the only light coming from the full moon reflecting off the water, and kissing my wife in the wind. (heh, sappy)

Second place: Driving through the Florida Keys in a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder convertible with the top down and the house music pumping.

Third place: Sitting in a circle with my wife and four of my best friends on the top deck of said cruise ship, talking for hours. One of those friends is now in Georgia, preparing to ship out to Baghdad in February, so it makes it all the more sweet.

Honorable mention: First (and only) ride on TTD. (not that I haven't tried to ride it again)

Mine would be riding TTD front row back in early May and riding Delerium at PKI.
Having my 40th B'day party / family reunion at CP. Seeing my 9 year-old son put his hands up 1/2 way down our inaugural ride on MF (he will be officially Son-of-Steel when he reaches 54" next summer). And finishing our CP weekend with a twilight ride on TTD.

My favorite moments (there are two) were:

Going to CP 4 hours before the park closed, getting in line for TTD, which was down, and finally riding it a minute before closing (11:00) in one of the first fixed trains.

Going to CP in October and riding TTD in the front, first thing in the morning, and practically just walking on. It was only like a ten-minute wait. Then the next day I just rode Millennium Force repeatedly from opening till noon.

Mine would be going to Cedar Point with NAPHA in May and just the whole experience was awesome.
Performing in the Make a Dream Come True parade at Disney World was a great experience too.

My season was full of wonderful moments. Here are my top 5.

5. Getting my first BD ride which was in the front

4. Experience the pure speed of Cheetah

3. Being the first to ride on August 31 the oldest coaster in the world, Leap-The-Dips

2. Meeting Robb Alvey and Elissa White on Pheonix during PPP.

And the best of all

1. My 17 second ride on TTD. The accelaration, speed and awesome height is memorable just to look at and riding it is even more memorable.

Making my 250th coaster, Coaster in Vancouver. It wasn't even planned, it just happened to work out that way.

Getting my last ride on Hercules was pretty good and so was eating my first elephant ear! Also enjoyed getting my first ride on Volcano the Blast Coaster in the front row!

I have two, the first being going to Cedar Point in June for my birthday, it was worth the 12 hour trip even though TTD was down that week, the second was going to Valleyfair for the 1st time and actually getting my fiance to ride SV and WT (her first 200 ft coaster & LIM coaster).

Waiting over 6.5 hours through a zillion breakdowns for TTD and finally getting launched. It was a rush like no other that's for sure.

The other thing that would take honorable mention would be when my name was called out as one of the 6 people who won the CoasterMania "Front Of the Line Contest". Even though TTD was down for the entire day, we got a huge bag full of cool stuff and some comp. prizes as well.

You mean Robb and Elissa ALVEY :-)

In the "coaster world", I'd say the best moment this year was the running of the bulls to TTD/first ride on opening day. Right up there is the last Magnum train of the season, but it loses out becuase you can only get one first ride on a coaster but you can get the last of the season many times.

Seeing how i live about 9 hours away from Cedar Point, I got to go twice this year. The first time i went was for the ACE event Coastermania in which TTD was down. I was so pissed! But then I went again in August and ended up waiting about 3 and a half hours and ended up sitting 2nd row.
Mind was my first trip to CP and riding TTD. It's nothing better then driving 10 hours to ride roller coasters with your two best friends before they leave for the Navy.

As far as COASTER's go, I would have to say finally hitting 100 on Disneyland's Matterhorn Bobsleds was a special moment. A close second would be riding the Belmont Park Giant Dipper. I'm a huge fan of anything historical no matter how painful it is. I had a great time on Mission Beach riding that coaster until sunset.

Certain victory.

Either my first ride on Hypersonic (in August), or alternatively my first ride on a Giant Drop *without* being frightened (erm, last week!) - www.powertower2.de.

Richard
