Your best hunch as to your parks future moves

pki - i believe that pki will get a new steel coaster of significant size within the next 3 years.......but who knows considering that fof is like a new ride now.

camden park - who knows what they will get i just know that the thunderbolt express is probably done for.

I'm guessing SFGAm will get rid of Whizzer in 2003 or 4 and get a S:UF clone. I'll miss Whizzer, but I'm sure S:UF will be a good replacement. If that would happen, it would be the 2nd, and last Schwarzkopf at SFGAm lost to a B&M, unless B&M starts making flats, and GAm replaces Fiddler's Fling, Orbit, and East River Crawler.

I'm just guessing here, but I think opthodoc can see the future (and the present) CLEARLY. But I am wondering, if #3 came true, would anyone notice...but if you want a really scary dark-ride, just have the place infested with boy bands!

I had to pontificate on this thread before responding...I've decided that ALL the Florida parks should get out-n-back woodies or Intamin hypers- great family coasters, and it's just too far to keep driving to GASM at SFoG or DBH for my serious "airtime fixes"...

Finally, congrats on your newfound sig, TrBiggar, you may find they work even better in multiples...;)

It must be March, the Madness is setting in (taking vacation time to watch NCAAs instead of coasting)!
We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams...

im gonna say SFGADV will take down GASM and put up an X coaster. its a good spot for that type of ride. Possibly a new woodie by NITRO in those woods back there - what would be cool is that if they can build a big woody by RT (take out viper) and have it go over and under it and all that stuff. not likely but a cool idea. i hope they do somethin for 2003, that park can be extremely packed. they must expand some part of the park. And last but not least " Truckasaurus " will return!!!!

5. Busch Gardens Williamsburg - They'll break up the Drachen Fire into millions of little pieces and sell them for $25 apiece so dumb fools like us can own our own little slice of heaven. Next, a bald eagle will build its nest at the top of the Alpengeist and it will end up sitting idle for four years while park executives run around the park wringing their hands and saying, "what'll we do, what'll we do...."

ophthodoc, that is some funny stuff. lol :)

Valleyfair lets see, I do see a new coaster of some type I hope either a CCI or B&M would do wonders for me ;). I realy do think Valleyfair is getting a coaster in 2003 followed by that I would like to see Valleyfair get a coaster every 2 to 3 years or so ;) that would be nice. I have a feeling next year is our turn :).

For Hersheypark…. Some of these are purely my speculation, some are based on “popular rumors"... none are official or verrified.- After the addition of Roller Soaker this year, I do not really expect to see any major additions or changes until around 2007 (the park’s 100th anniversary).

- The Hersheypark Arena will remain, even after the new Giant Center is open. However, expect that some of the parking areas around the old arena may be claimed for park expansion.

- Expansion across Hersheypark Drive (either going over or under it). They have a strip of land here that runs basically the length of the existing park. Not sure how far up on the hill it goes.

- With expansion across Hersheypark drive, the next new coaster: Something large and something steel.

- With a expansion across Hersheypark drive… there has been rumors of a possible water park… but I don’t think that would go here. IF Hershey owns another piece of land (more square in layout than this), look for a possible water park - More flat rides possibly… possibly a little more in the way of theming.

- Possibly the addition of the long rumored S&S tower (shot or drop… or both similar to Dorney’s Dominator).

- Having recently acquired Dutch Wonderland, perhaps the next round of growth and improvements may be in this park. Hersheypark has always been considered more of a “family park” than a “Thrill park” (with its coaster collection, I always thought of it as a “family park that thrills”). It is possible that, with the addition of Dutch Wonderland, a truly family park that is really geared toward kids, you may see a shift a little more toward thrills at Hersheypark while really upgrading Dutch Wonderland.

- Contrary to other popular rumors, I don’t expect sooperdooperlooper to be removed any time soon. As long as it is not too costly to maintain, I expect it to remain. Looper and Comet form perfect anchors in Comet Hollow.

- Removal of the Giant Wheel (twin armed Intamin(?) wheel). Most that existed in the US are already gone (is this the only one remaining), and it has been said that replacement parts are very hard to get and very expensive.

- While a relocation of the main entrance to somewhere more centralized (such as where the previous entrance was… near where the Hersheypark Arena Monorail Station is) would make sense… I don’t expect to see it. Right now all traffic flows by Chocolate world and through Tudor Square to the Main entrance, then through Rhineland and into Carrousel Circle. To move the entrance would be to isolate these areas (the areas where many of the shops are located). However, a second entrance more central entrance(perhaps for season pass holders) would not surprise me… or at the very least a more centralized exit.

PKI- The Slingshot installed this year where Flight Commander was. A new coaster in the spot of King Cobra in 2003. Rivertown expansion in 2004 with a flat ride package. Then a coaster added for 2005.

That's my PKI hunch of the week.

Hersheypark: Do to bad critisizm on the name "Roller Soaker" they will rename it to the "Hershey Squirts"

Oh god how i would love to see that.

I think PKI will get a flat package next year along with a coaster. Also work on Oktoberfest changing the theme or addings ome German themed flat rides

Dorney...has a deal with b&m for another coaster...but it will not be the next coaster they are getting...there is a woddie coming first...the ferris wheel is also rumored to be relocated
I have a feeling Carowinds is going to re-theme or fix up another section of the park and get a couple of flat rides next year. I really would like them to get another big coaster but I'm not sure thats going to happen until atleast 2004 but who knows...

NoClueWhy,

Why do you spread rumors which aren't true? Like Putz always says those who know don't talk

Excalibur Crew for 2002!

I truly beleive that for the 2003 season the VERY minimum for SFSL is either a triple Turbo Drop/ Space shot by S&S of about 200 ft or a 200 ft tall intamin drop. It would be great to see an intamin hyper but land is questionable since I don't know what they own. It seems like land would be fine. Hopefully a unique intamin hyper that is at leats to par with Goliath at SFH
What I'd LOVE to see is a great CCI woodie brought to vegas, it would be a huge hit, but the only way that could possible happen is if either MGM Grand Adventures opened again or if a new hotel built a thempark. I don't see a hotel just building a wooden coaster.
SFA - Due to planning comission requirements we probably have more information to base guesses on than at most parks. I think that the next addition will probably be a ferris wheel in the central part of the park in 03. After that we will probably start seeing the fill in of a new area possibly connecting Gotham City with Coyote Creek, though there are other areas available. In fact it's surprising to see how many options there are when you look at an aerial photo. Likely early additions are a wild mouse and a dark ride.

I wouldn't bet the house on it... I think Cedar Fair is smart enough to know when stop "Super-Sizing" SFWoA's coasters and putting them in Cedar Point... the next one will be something you can't go to Six Flags Worlds Of Advenure for

I think it's plausible that Valleyfair and Michigan's Adventure both get Talon clones or near-clones.

I also think some US park will wind up with one of the new Intamin woodies, but I can't decide who. I vote for the Drachen Fire spot at BGW, but they don't seem that interested in adding wood (for maintenance reasons presumably).

Michigan's Adventure and Valleyfair aren't even in the same categorey, and I'd imagine VF would get a unique invert before MiA does.

When Michigan's Adventure doubles in attendance then you can start comparing it to VF. Until then, take some business classes and figure out why it wouldn't make sense to build an invert at MiA. (Maybe an SLC, but a Beemer wouldn't be cost effective.)
