Would CP ever remove another coaster??

I think that they should do something with that area where the xtra MS que is. then instead of taking out a coaster (ie: DT), they could move a flat in there and they would have more room. I like the fact that DT is near the beach because if it was in the middle of the park it would just look uglier than the building does already. I would like to see another woodie there though that maybe even goes over the water, but not too much. I'd also like to see a watercoaster in Frontiertown that goes over PR and into the water. Not likely though. I do think that they should take more advantage of the water around them.

i can see them takeing out Millennium Force, Magnum, Raptor, and Wicked Twister....... just kidding I think it will be a while and if they do I think it would be Cedar Creek Mine Ride and adding a bigger dueling mine train coaster.

Why does everyone keep thinking CP is out of room? Many people have stated it is not (even trademarking the phrase) and they have not removed a coaster in many years...while building some very large ones. Yes, they may move some flats around and even remove a couple, but that doesn't mean they are out of room. Depending on what they decide to build in the future, they can build over or around existing structures. Look at a recent aerial photo of the entire park. There are still plenty of spaces not yet used. You may have to continue moving some things around, but they still have plenty of room to build....without considering what coaster to remove.

I really don't see them removing a coaster either. DT loses riders...maybe the "theming" could be removed to bring it back to the original Avalanche Run. Were any of you at CP when MF was down 2 summers ago? Remember the lines for Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, Gemini, and even Mean Streak? Take the influx of people at that park any given day; notice which lines are short, which are long; take out a ride that has a high ridership; notice shorter lines getting longer, and longer lines getting to be miles longer. Plus whenever I'm at CP, WildCat ALWAYS has a line.

You can really turn everything upside down here. Maybe instead of saying that they haven't taken one out in so long that they won't take out in a while, say that since they haven't taken one out '78, it looks as if they need to do another demolition because they have to put in another coaster there. Just a thought.

So, just to clear things up, do CP care about the whole coaster count thing at all? (OBVIOUSLY they are not in competiton for visitors). I would have thought that the pride of the claim 'most coasters on earth' is a fairly minor thing as far as the park concerned, only the hardcore cp fanboy massif giving a $hit about it, so the real question is does being able to make the claim lead to more profit? If not, i say, take 1 or 2 of the 'lessor' coasters out. ie MS and DT.

Whoever said take Mantis out, you must be mad! Also Wildcat is great and shouldn't be removed.

Can anyone else think of a large, established corporate park that hasn't taken out a coaster in so many years? Besides Disney parks I sure can't.

How about Hersheypark? They haven't removed a whole lot over the years, have they?

Close! They removed the "Twin Toboggans" in the 80s.

blackpool pleasure beach havent removed a coaster at least since 1980 and there is still operating coasters in the park from 1923, 1933, 1934 and 1935 (the earlist cedar point has is 1964) :p

Well, there's one park! How about American ones? :) They all seem to ditch coasters every once in a while.

Well, Busch Gardens Tampa has never removed a coaster, but they have removed rides such as the monorail. I could see Python going sometime (not like they would have a shortage of looping coasters).

Peabody, how about Paramount Canada's Wonderland? :)
OK, as CP is my home park, and I have bee there anywhere betwen 1 and 40 times in one year... DT will be the first to go.. although CS has the shorter lines, everyone I know loves that old looper... I stil ride DT when I am there, but this year was a joke sellin the 3d glasses for Flourescent paintings... Thats just calling for attention.. In my opinion if they would get rid of all the lights, graphics, etc, that ride would be better.. I love Space Mountain Black parts, and my stomach still oves in the black parts of DT.. i say MAKE IT BLACK! ALLL BLACK!
Chris Sawyer, what you said makes absolutely no sense. If there is no reason to remove a ride, parks do not just take out rides because they haven't for awhile. Come on....

You're joking, right? The word is "non-existent," or "nonexistent." Don't throw stones when you live in a glass house.

Secondly, in reference to PT300, I look forward to the day when that monstrosity known as Python at BGT is removed. Is that footprint large enough for an Impulse? Or, since Florida is the land of B&M, perhaps a S:UF clone? Just a random thought.

Actually, if PKI has nothing better to do with KC...;). It would fit perfectly in the spot, but is NOT what the park is interested in...:(

Read it again. Okay, maybe it's not the most practical idea in the world, but I was just throwing an idea up in the air and seeing what the response was gonna be.

If I were running CP, I might be tempted to replace Wildcat with a mouse. It would probably fit in the same area, and would be something that they don't have.
Why not keep Wildcat, and find another place for a mouse? Like someplace near the old Kid Arthur's Court?
