Worst Coaster Crash?

Regarding SFGAm two people did die on the Edge. The car came off the track. I was there that day. That was about 15 years ago.

This is simply NOT true. The accident happened over 18 years ago. Are you sure you were there?

There was also the lady that was thrown from the "violent" Colossus at Magic Mountain in the seventies, leading to the redesign of some of the most intense hills ever put on a coaster. Such a shame...about the ride that is. (jk)
Recess, thank you so much, I was 11 when that accident happened. I was with a church youth group. The youth leader told us the next day the teens died. I have never got on a another Intamin freefall because of that incident. Now after 18 years I found out the truth. Thank you my life is now changed for knowing what really happened and how the rides were fixed. Thanks Again.

funny thing at the end of the story about The Edge....

"The accident prompted Intamin to install anti-rollback devices on all of their freefall attractions." hmmmm, seems that MIGHT have been considered a tad earler.....;)

deanne, I recall the rumor of the wild mouse accident at Boblo. According to the Coaster Enthusiasts of Canada site, a girl was thrown from the wild mouse in 1976, but not killed. In fact, there were several accidents in the late 70's that resulted in injuries, but no deaths. My last trip to Boblo was shortly after the Sky Streak was built.

I'm sure glad I didn't ride the Demon Drop until 1992, after the changes were made.
