Will Vekoma still make flying?

Thank you, Matthew.  I think you were able to follow through with what I was trying to convey in my post.  It's not up to the manufacturers as to when and where a ride will be installed.  It's simply a matter of which park deciding they want to buy one.

My pleasure, James.  I just get annoyed when the same questions are asked over and over.  I don't know anyone who posts to C-buzz that has a crystal ball.  Predicting when the next <insert coaster here> will be built or predicting what lines will be like at <insert park here> on <insert date here> is akin to asking what the winning lottery numbers will be this week.
Well, Im glad someone shares my feelings about that too, Mamoosh. But that still doesnt compare to my favorite line..."How long are the lines at Cedar Point, we will be going next year"

Oh and Peabody-One of those machines did work correctly...just not for the public.

It would sure be nice if they would get it to work right for the public.  I didn't think a 1 train op.  (with a row roped off!) on X-flight was acceptable on a peak July day.

I'm really not trying to bash a park or manufacturer, but I would sure be dissappointed if my multi-million dollar new atraction functioned at a much lower than promised capacity.

The first Vekoma Flying Dutchman, the PGA Stealth costed the park $17 million dollars. X-Flight and Batwing were improved and upgraded, now standard designs. So they're not very cheaply priced. These are high maintenance, technologically advanved rides...
Mamoosh: You seem to know a lot about coasters and upcoming installations, so I wanted to ask you some questions:

1. I'm going to be attending the 2003 ACE Coaster Convention in Virginia...any idea what the lines will be like at BGW and PKD?

2. Do you know if Arnold's Park or Bell's will get the next Intamin hyper?

Legendary-How can you say a B&M flyer will work right on day one with little down time when one hasn't even been finished?

A little bit of reading how AIR tested well on its first day and knowing B&M's "track record."
They know what they're doing, plain and simple.

Are you then saying, Legendary, that Vekoma are a bunch of retard who haven't got a clue what they're doing?

Admitted, they have had minor problems with the first generation of Flying Dutchman, but the overall reaction has been overwhelming positive... and if they can manage to get the reclining to work on the lift to save time and keep a minimum of a 2 train operation... then they should still be sought after by other parks to build more Flying Dutchmen!

Ok, what's new for 2003?? I can't wait!!...

B&M is just pretty much taking everyone elses designs and adding a little twist to them. Like the Vekoma ride, all they did was invert it. And now they are working on a propultion system for there type of track. And for those of you who think that Incredible Hulks lauch was made by them, it was not. US hired an outside company to come in and do that. As for Vekoma flyers, there will probably be some more built in the future.

Actually B&M started designing there flying coaster before Vekoma, I think Vekoma found out about it and just put together some crappy coaster to look like they came up with the idea, and they did it halfed butt and thats why it doesnt work right, and thats why B&M's ALWAYS work the first time, because B&M always spend a great deal of time on there designs, and make sure they are quality.

Interpret my statement however you'd like.

LOL!  I'm sure people *loved* waiting twice as long as they had to because Vekoma can't figure out how to build a reliable coaster.  I'm sure the park *loved* having so much downtime, delayed opening, etc.  Overwhelmingly positive, I'm sure.

Because, see, with Vekoma, you have to order 3 trains so ONE of them will work.  It's kind of like gambling.  If you order a B&M, if you order 3 trains, all 3 will work.  Have you ever met a Swiss person before?  Very efficient and punctual.  Kind of like Dieter from Sprockets.  (Now ve dance!)  Have you ever met a Dutch person?  They're all messed....

That new Intamin hyper is going to Americana for their grand re-opening, and Mamoosh knows it!

Let's see...Raging Bull for one, I'm sure Nitro runs 3, Shockwave at SFGAm runs with 3 on a busy day, Whizzer runs with 3 pretty often during the summer. Now that wasn't a very hard question!

Well consider yourself lucky! None of the B&Ms in California run 3 trains except Riddler's Revenge every so often.
I stand corrected. Even still, something tells me Superman won't be running 3 trains. We'll see...

DWeaver - IIRC Riddler is the only B&M in California that HAS three trains.  Top Gun, and Batman all only have two trains and I believe Vortex only has two as well.

Rob A - I'll deny that Americana tidbit [unless the park announces it, of course].

And Bassistist - I'll make sure those lines are long especially for you ;-)

Well there's also Medusa, which has 3 trains but only runs 2.

D'oh!  I had a feeling I had forgotten one.  Thanks, DWeaver.  BTW...Bassistist quotes you in his signature on the coaster news group RRC and its a GREAT quote:  "Maybe the problem isn't the park, maybe its YOU!"  My sentiments exactly.
