"Everybody" on CB seems to hate Mean Streak? Why is this? What is so bad about it? People say it is to rought. You think that is rough, go on Twister 2 at Six Flags Elitch Gardens.
Mean Streak is a Top 5 wooden coaster: to me it is. Why is it hated?

I don't know why it is hated so much. Personally, I love the ride. Short lines, it's rough, and is awesome at night.
Mean Streak is one of my top 25 coasters. It is a good ride. And for those who hate it, don't bash people for liking it.

I absolutely love MS. I went to Cedar Point yesterday and Rode it at least 18 times. I stopped counting after ten. I don't find it uncomfortable. Maybe a little jerky, but it makes the ride what it is!

Well Stealth, you have only been on a few woodies, and MS was also one of my first. Then, I thought it was a really good ride too, but after I built my CCI track record, I found out what a good woodie is. It looks like you've been on Roar at SFMW(which I've heard is one of the best out there) and Grizzly at PGA(which I've heard is one of the worst out there).
I'll have to go with what xbombman said, "there are certainly much better wooden coasters out there". The reason I don't like Mean Streak that well is mainly just because it's not very fun.
If someone else likes it, or loves it, that's fine with me. It's your opinion. I'll go on it if the line is short, but otherwise, better things to do at the Point.

Other woodies are much more exciting, MS was like a little tour for me. I'm baffled as to the roughness issue. We rode it five times over two days, both days it had been raining, but wasn't raining during the rides. Smooth is all I could say about it, an little slow, too:(, but IMO not bad. I'm sure it has to get rough, nobody would complain if it wasn't an issue, but on the woodies I've ridden that seemed rough at times, when you just let go and don't touch anything the ride will seem smoother. At least that works for me.
I think Mean Streak gets rough in the second half. Not necessarily hurtingly rough but annoyingly rough IMO. Like a giant angry vibrator.
(That didn't come out right but don't get excited girls...or guys for that matter.)

Sure Mean Streak is rough but none of my friends complain about it (Us young 15 yr olds) I only hear the older generations complaining. Heck I was at CP just yesterday and my friend and I rode it 18 times total and became well acquainted with the work crew it was really awesome.

I just think it is braked too heavily which provides for a *very* slow ride. You crawl halfway down the first drop and barely make it up to the turnaround. I didn't think it was rough at all, it was just so boring and it kept on going, and going, until I thought it would never end.
If you looked at my on-ride photo, you would notice by the look on my face just how boring the ride actually is.

I don't hate the ride but it's seen it's better days. Rode it once yesterday and I thought they were going to about all but stop us coming down the first hill it was braked so bad. Got a little bit of air in one spot but other than, pretty uneventful ride.

I must say that I don't hate it. How can I judge a coaster I havn't been on? I do look forward to riding it next summer, though, even if people say it is overbraked and rough. I could care less. A coaster is a coaster people!

Why can that never happen?
I think Mean Streak is pretty dang good. When sitting in the back you don't feel the trims too much and the ride does have good speed after the first drop, and contrary to popular belief it does have a few good points of air time. The ride is also not that rough. I came away with no wounds from Mean Streak, but my whole left thigh is bruised from Villain after the first turn around and that sharp right turn. Although throughout the entire ride Villain is much smoother than Mean Streak.
Mean Streak is also the best looking woody I've ever seen. And the roughness is nothing compared to what you get on GASM or Georgia Cyclone at SFOG. If they could somehow figure out a way to take out the trims on the first drop and save the structure I think it could be one of the top woodies in the world.

OK, I'm just going to say it. I hate Mean Streak. Why? I guess it was just a bad experience for me. First, It looked like an awesome coaster to me. It was Huge, had turns, drops, etc... I hopped on the train, and started the the ride. We reached the top of the hill, and I was waiting for an awesome drop. So we dropped, but then we actually slowed down at the bottom of the hill. Ok, that was bad. And to mention, haveing bugs splatered all over your face isn't any fun either. The rest of the ride, did nothing for me. There was no good speed, the turns were just plain turns, and no airtime for me what so ever. And to top it all, I rode Mean Streak, which took time away from my final ride on MF. So I couldn't ride MF at night. I'm sorry, but this ride isn't worth anything to me.

I dont think its rough unlike raging wolf bobs. Mean streak to me is the best wooden coaster ive been on so far. I think it shold have more scary and longer drops though.
If ya took those "hacky" brakes off it would be awsome like it used to be
