Where will you close out the 2009 season?

Since it looks like there will be no Thankgiving Week trip to Disney World, our season will end on CP's closing day November 1.

Cedar Point opens in ~ 200 days!

For the first time ever, it looks like I will close 2009 out at BGW due to Christmas Town running all the way through the 27th of December.

In my 25 years of living near the park, I never thought that I would end a year there.. Typically its been a Florida park.

Im totally excited though. Its shaping up to be pretty impressive for a first time ever event.

I closed it yesterday marathoning Behemoth at Canada's Wonderland....

Official end of the season: 10/30 on Wild Thing at Valleyfair (always got to end on a hyper :))

Bonus Coaster Trip: Nick U @ MOA sometime in the next two weeks.

Did my last coasters tonight at Hersheypark in the Dark. Will probably also get there for Christmas Candylane.

How busy was it, Bear? I didn't go over and was just curious.

I'll be at Busch Tampa shortly before 2010. As for seasonal parks, I spent just over an hour at Great America in Chicago this past Friday. Batman and Iron Wolf were phenomenal. It was only my second visit to the home park this year- the only other I perused was King's Island.

Well, my 2009 season is already over (as I stated previously), but I now know for certain where I'll be opening 2010, and remaining there for the duration of the season. At Disney. :)

Well, I'll hopefully open the 2010 season the same place I started my '09 season: with a few laps on the Yankee Cannonball.

I drive in & out of Boston, so I ride coasters to relax!

I'm hoping to post a TR later, but for a quick recap-- I went in the evening. There was a decent crowd, but none of the lines for the coasters was very long. A lot were leaving as I was heading in.

Fortunately, Charmland stays open year 'round.

Not so fortunately, they lock the bathroom and stack the picnic tables after Labor Day. So you pretty much have to stand and it hold it in between runs on High Speed Slide.

We finished out on The Beast at KI after the park closed. The park was pretty empty all day and we didn't have more then a 10 minute wait for anything. The best part was spending the day with friends that I have made online.

Um, isn't that what all the trees are for?

I closed out my season at Cedarpoint! I got my last rides on the Demon Drop!! My last ride of the season was on the Maverick! My family and I had a blast on the last operating day of 2009 at Cedarpoint! I can't wait till 2010! I am hoping to hit Knotts in the spring!! Ride on!

Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs!

Closed out the 2009 season at Hersheypark on Friday, October 30, at 10pm. Last four coaster rides of the night came on the venerable old Comet just a few minutes before closing. Actual last ride of the night (and season) didn't come on a coaster but rather their PTC Carrousel (as they were turning off the lights in the surrounding buildings and the running lights on the nearby Comet as well).

Circumstances kept me away from the parks this season. First part of the summer my wife was still pretty immobile as she recovered from major knee surgery in March... repaired miniscus, replaced LCL (tendon on the right side of the knee just next to the ACL, damaged ACL, broken (and pinned) fibula bone. The second part of the summer no one felt in a festive park mood after my brother in law (my wife's brother) was murdered when someone broke into his home in the middle of the night.

Sept 20 saw our first trip of the season when some of the family went to Kenobels. October 30 saw only the second trip of the summer when some of the family went to Hersheypark in the Dark. With all of the stress and tragedy of the summer, it was good to get away for those two times.

Here is to hoping next year will be a better year... both in park visits and in real life as well.

"Yes... well... VICTORY IS MINE!"

Cedar Point last Sunday finished the year for me, the last ride was on Demon Drop. It was a great day with my son, met some friends unexpectedly and had a super time.
