Wheelchairs and marathoning a ride

Oh " im have ms" ,"Im 32 and i can barely walk" , "i'll trade my MS to be normal". this chick is just beggin for simpathy what the hell makes you think your disies entitles you to more rides than me. your extra rides make me wait extra time in line. I Think handy cap people should have a special ramp directly to the station. and they should sit in the station for how ever long the normal waiting time to ride is .if it takes regular people 45 minutes to move through the line than the handicap person should not be aloud to board the train until they have waited 45 minutes in the station. leave it up to servo and there would be a special train designated for handicap people and their friends. i dont think handicap people should have to be subjected to walkin through the line just think they should wait as long a we do.

sfmm15, most parks use the system that you described - wait the same amount of time as everyone else. Parks abandoned the immediate ride policy because it was unfair and could easily be abused. What is the world coming to when people are unwilling to be inconvenienced by what? Like a minute it takes to wait for the next train!

What is the world coming to when people have no compassion for the misforutned and believe that America has pure freedom and fairness?

All that yelling on Demon and during the whole time there was another train waiting right there on the final brakes. That's what made me want to slap someone. you know, "Hello? Is your brain on in ther? There another train right behind the one you're throwing milk duds over!"

I think one of the biggest problems is that people who wait in line don't realise that these people have waited to get into line. At the SF park that I work at, people come up the exit ramp, and the operator gives them a time to come back, based on how long the line is. At the appointed time, the disabled person(s) are allowed on the ride through the exit. The biggest problem is that people in the station think that the person is getting on without waiting. Unfortunately, we as ride ops cannot explain to the rest of the people what is going on without making the disabled persons uncomfortable. It becomes a sour situation which is not the fault of anyone or anything but the overbearing 'me first' mentality that is so rampant in our society. Is the system perfect? NO. Does it adequately serve the purpose it was intended for? Yes.

I have been patient through this thread but this post takes the cake. Sfmm15, you have now upset me.

Begging for Sympathy? Come on, she was explaining her situation.

Here's an idea. Go tutor some elementary school children with MS or some other disease. Why do they need tutors? Because they cannot get to a school. To see children in this light (as I have) brings on a whole new meaning to the term disabled. Heck, I wouldn't mind letting a person with a disability such as MS ride all day if they wanted.

MS Sucks dude, you should be thankful to the great Lord (every day) that you can walk.

And who is the one who needs sympathy here? At least most of can spell, use correct grammar, and correct puncuation. I pay taxes to send people like you to school, please be grateful for the opportunity and learn something.

If I was a moderator, I would have banned you for that comment.

Sfmm15, go read a book. I got the perfect one for, The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat. After reading that book you should have a lot more respect for the misfortuned and challenged people of the world. You probably wouldn't have that much care for a blind person, but what about a lady who with unilateral neglect in monitoring the 'missing' half. Neglect so severe that the woman behaves almost as if one half of the universe had abruptly ceased to exist in any meaningful form.....Patients with uniateral neglect behave not only behave as if nothing were actually happening in the left hemispace, but also as if nothing of any importance could be expected to occur there.

So one day you're heading over to ride Millenium Force. What if this same lady came and asked you where the entrance to Millenium Force is and you say "over there, to the left." She'd tell you that nothing was there, though it is clear as can be to you. You can try to move her, but because of this problem she cannot look left, directly, she cannot turn left, so what she does is turn right through a circle. Thus she must travel in a rotating wheelchair. So now what would be your reaction? Would you leave this woman lost because you don't want her to cut or stall you in line for Millenium Force?

There are many short stories in this book of many different people with cases unheard of and mental disorders that cause unbelieve changes in the way these people live and see the world. Any of these people could walk up to you with a different disability or disorder, the question is, would you treat that person with the same pathetic sympothy as you did to the lady above?

Isn't it nice that SHE started all the fights in being rude in the first place? She milks her disability for all its worth which is something I can't stand. I have all the respect in the world for someone with a disability but when someone squeezes it to get their way, it's just rude.

Ok enough! We have explained it enough. This has become a fight. Someone just wanted to know how they could ride MF as many times as possable thougout the day. Everyone fought about it cause the wording was off.

When I was a ride op at PKI we explained to the people in the line that someone with a disability had waited the "line" once they knew that they understood. Its not too hard. CP and PKI policys are about the same (infact PKI most likely got the idea from em)
