What's up with these topics?

I think the problem with Mapquest is that it assumes you'll be doing the speed limit for the entire trip (a mistake, of course :)). It said our trip to Santa Claus would be almost 10 hrs and it took less than 9 with a couple of stops on the way. I've never tried to verify my "theory", but it makes sense. Construction is a problem, but it seems to be everywhere I go. I just plan on hitting it on whatever route I take.

Posts asking for info don't get to me -- I'm always glad to share what little bit of knowledge I have. And I'm more happy to hear advice from others. But I see where it could be a problem for people who use the previous/next/newest topic links. The idea of a separate forum comes to mind, but I don't know how feasible that is...

As I have said an ungodly number of times- it isnt the heat, its the humidity. She couldnt have gone that weekend because it was too damned hot, and furthermore she is in a wheelchair to boot. They say that they are weelchair accessable, but I really cant see a wheelchair going up and down those steep hills without some assistance.

Cricket - What are you talking about?

In other news:

On the subject of Mapquest. Last year I also found the times to be off, however, my case was different. I was driving an old underpowered RV and the times given were shorter than what it actually took me to drive. Especially driving from Tennesee to PKD. The hills on that route really slowed me down.

Specify your topic:

I do agree with the fact that one should say more than just, "Question." I may read the first line and then click back. But there definitly should be some kind of guidelines for it.

13 year old factor:

I know that maybe even some people are not totally honest on this fact, are you 13? They know the internet, if don't click it then you don't get what you want, but if you do then its just a little white lie.

Mapquest:

Great idea for a program, and mapping out the trip by hand is fun but, whatever you want to do is great. Both get you from point A to B. But mapquest doesn't always give you those little back roads that may cut off time. I just learned to ignore those posts though.

I know that I am not very popular on this site because of my "Attacks" on MF. But the thing is I am really sick to death of alot of people tearing me down for it. May it not be on my top # but it doesn't mean that I hate ALL coasters. It seems like a crime to like something to like parks other than CP and its coasters. I really like coasters and if people are going to keep being mean about my opinion, why should I stick around this site?

When my friends and I went to Coaster Mania and then left because we were bored of CP, alot of people were very mean to us about leaving. If you think a park is so great, that's nice, but its not my opinion.

What is great about this country is that EVERYONE is entitiled to his or her own opinion. But your opinion may not be someone elses.

I really this, pet peeve talk.

Just did a major update on my site, http://www.geocities.com/coaster_m_and_m_18/index.html

When I saw the name of the topic, "What's up with these topics?", I thought it was refering to all the female-related topics, like the 'Girl Coasterbuzzers' etc... There were a few up on GTTP too...

Hey, if you want a real pet peeve--

"LOSE" is spelled with ONLY ONE "O"!!

You want your lap bar loose. You want to hold on to anything you don't want to lose. See the difference?

"BREAKS" are what park employees do when they are on the clock but not working. "BRAKES" are the things that make coasters go slower. See the difference?

"drop rides, not bombs."

Mamoosh- I wasn't rebuting your post, yours just happened to make me think of something that had been bothering me, so no offense taken :). I think people should come up with a plan and a route, and THEN they should post that here. Then, it is obvious that they have done their work and aren't trying to get someone else to do it for them, and locals familiar with the area can offer their suggestions.
