Can't we do better than this?
Just venting; thanks!

Agreed, Dave. That's why in the past day I must have deleted a several dozen topics.
Another tip... naming topics "Dorney" or "SFGAm" also does nothing to indicate what your topic is about. If you're gonna be vague, it's gonna go away.

I thought I was the only one who noticed. The new kids feel the need to be heard, and by God, they're doing it. I'm seeing less and less of the "older elite members" posting. Maybe another spin on TOS: The Ride is in store... (maybe some emphasis on the "13 or older" requirement?)While we're at it, Could we please stop the butchered spelling and pointless question/exclamation marks!!!?!??! This isn't AOL Instant Messenger -Though it sure seems like it with all these ridiculous new screen names. Why oh why do people feel the need to add millions of numbers or senseless letters after their sn? CEDARpoint29847983214732 or rOlLerCoAsTeR48820989203893774. I'm not attacking anyone personally, but do we lack creativity when coming up with handles? It just looks so sloppy to see a poster under the handle of sdjkndns403921074097. I tried my best not to name anyone in particular. If your name bears resemelence to any of the ones mentioned ( I wouldn't be surprised) it is purely coincidental.
Thanks for letting me vent, I feel much better now. :)

Formally Known as Ozzyhead.
I don't understand why people are afraid to use their real names. It's not like someone's going to hunt you down and kill you if they find out your first name.
If your name's already in use, add your last initial. Or the number 1. Or the year you graduated. Whatever. I just hate knowing a hundred people and only knowing the first names of 5 or 6 of them.

Why do they report power outages on TV?

... or use your first two initials plus your last name. (My firstname would confuse too many people)

Face it, call ourselves what we want, but to the parks we are all "GP".
If it makes you feel better, I've slapped quite a few post quotas on lately. Oh yes... maybe you didn't know... I can limit the number of posts you make.

What is your first name, why is it confusing?

Why do they report power outages on TV? SANDWICH! Feel free to call me Mack. Or S00perd00perhyper.
OMG, I'm gonna hit "the wall"...then I'm gonna have to keep ALL this bottled up in my head until I can't take all the pressure (yes, just like Tweek)....
bill, realizing he was a guilty party just this past week.....bad thread name....:(.....but hoping you will all forgive me before I fill my quota....
My name's Bill, and my credit card number is... Giving your name is nothing bad, I mean, there are probably thousands of people with the same name. Yeah, really, I go to some thread about a park or ride that I know a lot about and it turns out they ask some completely off the wall question. It is annoying. The topic should be "Why is ____ down" instead of calling the topic say, CP, when it's about a certain ride. I'm not saying anything specific, just an example.

I like to use the name Dexter as my alter ego. My REAL name is Travis. I hope that helps anyone who cares.
Yep, I got to agree about the spelling and vague topics. Some of us aren't the best spellers but it's the easy words like r, u, and others that bug me. It's like we can't even have a decent conversation anymore without all of these shortcuts. It really seems as if people don't find what their writing importiant enough to do it the right way.
And these topics. What about the one that said "X open!!!" and when you click on it is asks when it's going to open. That one takes the cake for me.
Just my opinion.

KoRn is the Mellennium Force of ROCK
My real name is...well, you've probably guessed it. When I created my profile I didn't realize that my handle would be the same as "name." Oh well. I like how it makes me look really pompous-I even have my middle initial in there!
Anyway, on the other boards I've posted, I've been known as somewhat of a "grammar cop." I try not to let it bother me too much, realizing that many posters here are around 13, but like Bill says, it seems our schools are failing miserably in teaching grammar, sentence structure, and spelling.

So many coasters, so little vacation time....
Yep...I DID say that some of us aren't the best spellers. I don't really have a problem with an occasional miss spelled word. Even if they are spelled wrong, their should at least be an attempt to TRY to spell it right.
I have my franklin Spelling Ace here on my desk, but sometimes I don't even know that I spelled a word wrong.
RollerFreak, Thanks for pointing that out for me... And they ARE!

By the way, what ever happened to the built in spell checker ? I never really used it, 'cause it's too slow, but it was nice to have, and then you couldn't really have an excuse for poor spelling. I'm sure my posts aren't perfect, but if i have doubts about any spelling, I'll usually compose it in my e-mail program, spell check it, then paste it into CoasterBuzz.

i, personally, think that my screen name is the best ever...not to be conceited or anything But, the story of how i got it is kinda long and sligtly anticlimatic...but ill throw in some space aliens and other creatures to keep those with slightly shorter attentions spans interested.
here it is, the infamous origin of the name "messiah of the DMV" :
well, i was sitting in my house one afternoon about 6 months or so ago and my sister was home cause she had a short day at college and no work. On the TV was one of the all-time-kinda-semi-good-funny movies of our generation. of course im talking about "Clueless"
We were wathcing it and i was on her lap tops, which used to be her boyfreinds (now ex) but he gave it to her when he got a new one from his job and we were both allowed on his aol service. so we were in the process of making me a screen name that was both original and funny...well at least its funny to use. But i told her that i trusted her and would let her pick mine out and i would use it as long as it wasn't somethng horribly awful or whatever. the truth is though, i just had nothing that i wanted to use and was to lazy to put any effort into it, so i pawned it off on her.
so were watching the movie and she keeps spiting out some of the stupidest and least funny things i have ever heard, when the driving test scene comes on in the movie. She fails the test and almost kills them both and then the instructor starts yelling at her and he says the line, "Of course you'll do what i say. For you i AM the head of the DMV, i RUN the DMV...hell, as far as your concerned im the GOD _DAMNED MESSIAH OF THE DMV!"
Then she looks at me and says "i got it" but wouldent tell me what it is. then these aliens came down and into ou living room and they were like "hey...is that clueless...thats one hella good movie." and we were like, "yeah, its pretty good" then they sat down and chilled for a few minutes. then they went and gang-probed my neighbor and took over the earth. but after adjusting to the new alien-run way of life, next thing i know im on this name on AOL. then she breaks up with her boyfreind, he throws a fit, me and her are off of his aol and i need to come up with a new name. So i choose IheartGODandGOV, because its funny and sarcastic...at least for me it is...hahahah. but i didnt want this name to die altogether, so it became my CBuzz name. but just to make sure everyone knew who i was i end every post with my name then a random comment in the third person...a trend which seems to have caught on...and its probably not because of me.
now that my uterly pointless post is over i conclude
mike
-who was equally annoyed with the X OPEN topic as you all...even though it being open wouldent effect my life at all, i would really enjoy the TRs. lol
