When was Vortex ( B&M standup) at PCW built? Was it one of their earlier ones. I think it may have been their first standup because its slightly rough. Not like B&M at all.

From what I saw in rcdb, Vortex at PGA (1991) was their first stand-up and their second coaster. Iron Wolf (1990) at SFGA was the first. Batman the Ride opened at SFGA in 1992 was probably their third. Vortex at PCW is an Arrow.

Yeeee Haaawwww!
1990 Iron Wolf -1st

1991 Vortex Paramount Great America - 2nd

1992 Vortex Paramount Carowinds and Batman The Ride(SFGAM)

Vortex at Carowinds opened before Batman The ride so 3rd and 4th in the order above.

Vortex at PCW is not an arrow! I dont belive it!!!

I knew Vortex was B&M. But why is it slightly rough?

The abbreviation PCW both get mixed up between Paramount's Canada Wonderland and Parmount's Carrowinds. Paramount's Canada Wonderland's Vortex is an Arrow suspended roller coaster. Paramount's Carrowind's Vortex is a B&M Stand-Up.
Oh. I was talking about Carowinds. sorry

no one has answered my question. Why is Vortex at Carowinds rough when B&M designed it?

It was one of B&M's first coasters and they were still perfecting them.
Well, also as coasters get older, they become more and more rough. One day all thes B&M coasters that are so smooth will feel rougher than a woodie.

janfrederick: Iron Wolf is a stand-up.  B&M's first coaster was a stand-up coaster.  it is called Iron Wolf, located at Six Flags Great America just north of Chicago, and still in operation.

Don't you find it funny that even after someone's question is answered, coaster enthusiasts still insist on repeating it over and over? An example is like this thread.
