When was Vortex ( B&M standup) at PCW built? Was it one of their earlier ones. I think it may have been their first standup because its slightly rough. Not like B&M at all.

From what I saw in rcdb, Vortex at PGA (1991) was their first stand-up and their second coaster. Iron Wolf (1990) at SFGA was the first. Batman the Ride opened at SFGA in 1992 was probably their third. Vortex at PCW is an Arrow.

The abbreviation PCW both get mixed up between Paramount's Canada Wonderland and Parmount's Carrowinds. Paramount's Canada Wonderland's Vortex is an Arrow suspended roller coaster. Paramount's Carrowind's Vortex is a B&M Stand-Up.

no one has answered my question. Why is Vortex at Carowinds rough when B&M designed it?

Well, also as coasters get older, they become more and more rough. One day all thes B&M coasters that are so smooth will feel rougher than a woodie.

janfrederick: Iron Wolf is a stand-up.  B&M's first coaster was a stand-up coaster.  it is called Iron Wolf, located at Six Flags Great America just north of Chicago, and still in operation.

Iron Wolf was B&M's first coaster, and the first stand-up coaster from B&M.

B&M's first inverted coaster was Batman: The Ride.

Iron Wolf was the first B&M, and it's still operating at Six Flags Great America.

Batman the Ride was the first B&M at Six Flags Great Adventure and the sixth overall B&M coaster.  That too is still in operation.

Don't you find it funny that even after someone's question is answered, coaster enthusiasts still insist on repeating it over and over? An example is like this thread.
