Rathergoodbear, don't knock our state or our family reunions until you try it. I mean, how else are we suppossed to pick up dates? Right Clint? ;-) It's all "relative" you know. lol.

Here's a brief list of parks I've returned to even though they did not add significant new attractions:
I had a great time. I bet you would too.

At least SOMEONE understands how darien lake is so poorly operated. The reason we always suggest new rides is that maybe it'll help the place because obviously the public relations and operations needs work and will NEVER be changed. A new ride is the only means of improvmement.I really don't know why you are so upset about Superman. It's really not that great. It's not a bad ride but it's so predictable and the layout is so meh. The airtime isn't at all what it used to be and the ride shuffles on the lift hill. It is by no means rough or painful, but it just shakes so much. Millennium Force is 10X smoother than Superman. S:ROS at SFNE is also much smoother than Darien's.
SFDL...I spent about four of the longest hours I've spent at ANY park at that place. One visit, and I *got* why the upstaters are so annoyed at the park. A bunch of monkeys could do a better job managing SFDL....wait, you mean they ARE? Well, they *were* dressed nice at least....and at most. Trust me, I've been to SFMM, a new coaster is NOT what SFDL needs, a new management, and a new attitude, are precisely what's needed. THEN a new ride...the "new rides are the only means of improvement" theory is what kept SFI stock hovering around the $3-4/share mark for SO long, LOL...
As far as Supes, well, as I said earlier, those rides are *everything* the enthusiast in me is looking for. I have a business guy inside as well (it's crowded in my head, LOL), but that's NOT the guy who *drools* when he sees a RoS. Why so upset about that ride being down? Cause if I *had* gotten the RoS, I wouldn't need to spend half a day dragging my butt back to that sorry park....Viper's an Arrow multilooper, not something I'd NEED to go back for...;)
Just more of my crackpot theories...:)
Oh, and a PS to coasterfreak11....if you're tired of that *raggedy* Freeze clone, I'd be THRILLED to take it off your hands...
I've withheld using my Cedar Fair Season's Pass on Michigan's Adventure because the drive, while only about 5 hours away, is still too far to justify driving for one coaster. So, I likely wouldn't go there unless they get something new.
Lake Compounce is another place I really would like to go to, but won't until they get another attraction worthy of their asking admission fee.
Kennywood and Paramount's Carowinds are two others. Both I had originally planned to hit on our big summer trip this year, but they're both more than two hours out of the way of our meticulously laid out plans, and we didn't see enough of a reason to justify going there [Carowinds was only for Top Gun, Kennywood mostly for Phantom's Revenge]. Another big attraction might change our minds, though.

Don't you mean "Happy 4th Grade Gradjeation-- and It Only Took Five Tries"
Coasterqueen, I've been in your fair state several times, at least the 20 miles along I-81. Plus a quick drive along I-70. Oh yeah, and I went around Harper's Ferry once. How many "panhandles" can one state have anyway?
We should all have respect for the state that invented the toothbrush. If it had been invented anywhere else, they'd have called it a "teethbrush." (rimshot) :)
left-handed smiley. ----> (:
The Panhandles are just the "burbs" of Pittsburgh and western and central Maryland/Northwestern Virginia.
I-70, btw, just runs through Maryland (along the borders) :-)
For the REAL action you need to visit Southern WV. Try I-77 or 79 South sometime towards Charleston and Bluefield or Beckley/New River. Better yet try the backroads.
The mountains provide some GREAT lateral and negative G's when the cops are not around. ;-)

Too bad that I won't be back for three days. By that time nipplesucker will be gone for what, the third time? Once again, I'm going to miss all the fun.

It has it's qualities.......Thunder Run, Greezed Lightning, and Chang (and cheap rides on the slingshot if you get there early in the season).

Two. I'm in one now ;). All this from a guy that lives in Pennsylvania? Hey Pot, My name is Mr. Kettle ;).
Actually, as Tina can very well attest, I make and laugh at many a WV joke. Although most of them I've heard before, but in regards to Virginia (where it actually is legal to marry your first cousin, and they make fun of us?!?), Kentucky (Whoopee), and the Carolinas. I'm not offended, I just didn't think the first one was that funny ;). *** Edited 6/21/2005 1:52:45 PM UTC by TeknoScorpion***
