What is up with the IAAPA news ?

Okay, time for a little "Lucifer Laywering" (TM) ;)

Uh-oh, watch out, Jeremy's on a roll :)

Third, realize that the original comment here was made in ignorance. The poster simply did not realize all the intricracies of the show, nor were they aware of the events that transpired at the previous show. He expected more and didnt get it. When it was explained why more was not shown, he apoligized (THAT WAS POST NUMBER EIGHT!!!). It was even after that that the "crybaby" and "spolied jerk" comments began to fly.

Ok, I agree with you there. The original poster apoligized, and kudos to him for doing so. Other people have jumped in and made comments, though, and it was to people like that my comments have been directed.

who wonders when was the last time he posted something that *DID NOT* piss someone off

Nah. You may not always go with popular opinion around these parts (but then neither do I with my Hurler-loving ;) ) but at least you back up your reasoning :)

My page  My other page  And my coaster page

I am one to say thanks for the effort.  Who can blame Jeff for the short comings of a Trade Show.  I am in a business where we are at trade shows and this one sure had something to look at unlike the majority of shows I have been to.   I say we should thank Jeff,  He probably had to travel with out the wife. ( that sucks being alone in a hotel)  And I would hope our boards would stop being so negative.    Good Job Jeff, way to get something out of very little.

TITAN:  you mean YOU didn't get what you felt was promised.  I happen to be quite happy with the IAAPA coverage on C-buzz, so please...don't say "we."  You only speak for yourself.

Jeff, I want to thank you for the great coverage! I havn't been here long and this year I just really started to get into the coaster craze frame of mind. I love your site and  I think it rocks! Keep up the great work. It's really nice to come to a site and have such a gracious host such as your self that GOS out and grabs the news of these conventions! Alot of other sites webmasters just copy off of everyone else. Once again Jeff, kudos to you my coaster freind!!

Beer, My Baby, and Coasters. Is this a great country or what? ;)
Jeff, sod the rest, you can't report on something that is just not being reported.  Thanks for all your time in Florida, it certainly keeps me up to date with whats going on.  Your web guests should be better behaved than they are....get rid of the ones who dis'ed you.    If they have not got anything good to say then they should shut up .  If you have more news than Jeff, lets see it.........

I really like this site and the work Jeff does for us, but to do what The welsh legend says should be done is pure crazy, in this country we have freedom of speech, even if its hatefull or even stupid. The people stated what they wanted to say, wrong or right its still there right as an american to say what they want as long as its non threatning to another. Keep up the good work Jeff there is no better coaster site out there.

SFMM Season Pass 80$ drink 10$ ripping of six flags by coming back 100 times Priceless......

I haven't had a chance to read Jeff's IAAPA coverage yet; I was at the show, and when I got back to work today I paid the price for taking five days off in the middle of the semester.

Anyway, the sad truth is that there wasn't a whole lot new this year at IAAPA. For many companies, the big news was, "Hey, we're in business!". Vekoma, Chance, and Hopkins were all showing in spite of bankruptcies. IAAPA awards vendors who have the best new products, but you know something? Almost all of the "new product" awards went to products that were shown at last year's show. With one exception: Premier Rides got "best new technology applied to amusement rides" for the very same ride they got that award for five or six years ago: for putting new restraints on Flight of Fear, a retrofit that, for some strange reason, NOBODY wants to talk about.

The show was a bit of a disappointment this year. A few interesting things, but by and large a re-hash of last year. Let's all hope the industry has an awesome season in 2002 or next year's show will be even worse. 8-(

See? I'm not the only one who noticed there was little to talk about.

And I do agree about the Flight of Fear stuff. If you ever run into Jeff Seibert at PKI, he'll talk to you all day about it. Now if someone could just talk to Weiland about it and those nasty retrofits the other way!

As an IAAPA 2001 attendee, I totally support Jeff in every way. I enjoyed the interviews very much, and know that these people are very busy. Just remember that the coaster enthusiast community are guests at events like this, and any bulldog action taken just to get some minor scoop that is probably already public knowledge will only make it harder for future attendees. I myself am thankful for any coverage at all. I know how much work it takes firsthand to provide this type of coverage.
