I will never forget my first ride on Magnum.
I was terrified of coasters at the time, so I decided to ride Magnum to overcome my fear. I remember my knuckles were so white from gripping the handle bars, and that was before we left the station!
The whole way up the lift I kept my eyes glued to the ground, thinking how long it's taking to reach the top.
Thankfully, I loved it! And it's the reason I have an obsession for coasters now!

actually almost every coaster is memorable for me but probably my most memorable was opening day on SoB. the first sound of that unholy chain lift, the cheers as the fist train went through the loop, the huge smiles on everyones faces, and the satisfaction of watching sonny grow from the ground up 218 ft, really made this one memorable

Steel aint better, WOOD FOREVER!!!
I will never forget the Vortex at PKI (in case nobody has picked up on it, i live close to PKI). It was my first looping coaster, and my dad forced me to sit up front. Since then, I have never ridden a coaster (unless the line is longer than a couple of loads) anywhere else. Closer is better, folks

My very first Rollercoaster was the Beast. It was nighttime and I was in the front seat. It was the most exciting moment of my life, and like most lucky folks I had the advantage of riding during the fireworks. I beleive the Beast is and will always be the greatest rollercoaster ever built.
The Raptor. I was so excited to get on it. WEll i was 8 Yrs old when i first went on it and we had went omn it at night and in the back. I was so stupid by eating before getting on. When i got off i was dizzy and ran to the garbage can in the middle off the walk way.Everybody was so grossed out. I promised my self that i would never get back on it again. Im 14 now and its my 10th time on that coaster!:)
It was far from my first coaster, but I would have to say The Beast also. I first rode it in 1984 (I was 12) but I did not truly appreciate how good it is until 1998! By then, I had been on so many larger steel coasters (Vortex, Viper SFMM, Desperado) and I must have forgotten what makes The Beast so great. After only one ride in 1998, it jumped back to my personal #1 favorite coaster. Even though I was not an "enthusiast" at the time, I was able to tell what my favorite was!
I wish another park with that kind of room & terrain would try to beat The Beast's length record. That would be awesome!

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
There was this goofy coaster I rode with my dad once. I believe it was a traveling ride that was at a carnival we attended. The cars were small, 4 person, in-line seaters. The lift hill was straight up in an aluminum cylinder. We popped out the top and went round and round the cylinder. Near the bottom there was a little out and back with a couple of little hops. 'Twasn't anything great, but it is something I've never seen since. Plus, it was something I got to ride with my dad.
In the world of real coasters ... it would have to be the first time I rode the Beast. What an incredible rush it is flying through he woods at 70mph on a wood track. Ya know, if they would have made the ride any shorter (length) I don't think it would have had quite the success it had.
Of course, I haven't ridden MF yet.

If I'da thought about it a little longer, I'da spent more time thinking.

Along with many others, the coaster I always will remember is Millenium Force. Back in August of 2000, I was so excited because I was making my first trip to Cedar Point. Quite honestly, I was more excited about Magnum, since I had heard so many good things about it. But when I was coming across the causeway, I was in awe of MF. I was simply amazed, and I couldn't take my eyes off of it.
Well, after waiting in line for a while, there was almost a fight, so that took my mind off the MF for a while. But there was no getting away from the overbanked curve that comes right over the line. As the train roared by, the wind blew me back, and I got even more nervous. This ride had POWER. I was very scared of heights too, which made this so difficult. Finally, we boarded the fifth car, and with my hands shaking, I buckled my seat belt, and pulled the lapbar down. Then we were off.
We flew up the lift hill, which was almost a ride of it's own. But before I had much of a chance to look around, we began to crest, and then we plummeted down the best drop ever. I held my hands up the whole ride, which I had vowed not to do. But it's almost involuntary.
We flew over the first camel back, giving me unbelievable air, flew threw the two overbanked turns, and sailed over the 2nd camel back, giving more awesome air. Our picture was snapped, we hit the final bunny hop, and then flew over the hundreds of people waiting below. Then we hit the brakes, and the train erupted in applause. Needless to say, we got right back in line.
I will never forget my first ride on MF. Never.

i would have to say that the blue streak at cedar point.it was my first rollercoaster, and i remember when they had the manual braking and no seat dividers.
there are two coasters i will always remember no matter how old i am or even if i get alheziemers disease i will always remember millineum force and the hoosier hurricane at cedar point and indiana beach. Its obvious why i will remember MF, but the hoosier hurricane isn't the tallest wood or best wood coaster poll wise but to me it can't be beat. The hurricane one day will be another coney island cyclone. It isn't a classic yet but one day it will.
I would have to say the first coaster I ever rode Elitch Gardens' Mr. Twister, one of the best woodies ever. I drove past the old place the other day, there are houses where the Twister and Wildcat used to stand.
The Whizzer at PGA, also my first heartbreak from the removal of a coaster

Okay, this is the kind of topic on which you can't resist writing a novel, so here's mine.
My most memorable coaster experience was my first ride on Six Flags New England's Superman: Ride of Steel in early June of 2000. I have to admit, I wasn't too thrilled that SFNE had decided to build a hyper because I wanted a B&M Floorless. Anyway, when I first got to the park, I saw the lift hill and it really didn't look all that high. I guess I've seen enough 200 footers that I just wasn't blown away like some of the other native New Englanders who have never seen a coaster that big. I was expecting the ride to be kinda like Magnum, but after I studied the design a little bit and watched a few trains enter the brake run and erupt into applause, I knew it would be better, and was it ever! Every part of that coaster was the most perfectly engineered track possible. There was never a dull moment whether it be airtime to the extreme on the first half, or furious positive Gs in the second half, it was a pure delight. When we pulled into that slick magnetic brake run, I sat there for a minute. Next, I managed to say just one word, "Wow." I didn't scream it, I said it quietly to my friend next to me, and then I joined the rest of the train in applauding and screaming.
The thing that really made Superman special for me was that it exceeded my expectations SO MUCH. Everything was there, great first drop, speed, airtime, headchoppers, tunnels, helices. Absolute perfection. After riding Superman, I really want to get back to Sandusky to ride its big brother.

My hometown park is Paramount's Carowinds. The one coaster that i will never forget is my first ride on Thunder Road. I was about 6 years old. It's a double racing out and back coaster for those who don't know. The first drop is only 98 feet but, the first time rode I thought that it was the tallest in the world. I wasn't really scared but excited and, i was with my mom. I was the greatest in the world. The most recent that i will never forget is my first ride on Millennium Force. Luckily to get the very front row, after having to wait 4 and 1/2 hours. It was the greatest ever.
I will always remember my first ride on Millennium Force.
I remember my first ride on Gemini vividly--it was the early 80's and I was extremely afraid of coasters but my sister talked me into going on it. It freaked me out so bad that I didn't ride another coaster for a decade! Now I can look back and laugh at what a chicken I was!
I also remember my first ride on Millennium Force--especially when the train started to speed up near the top of the hill! Now that was a scary feeling!
