What is the big event in the amusment industry?

Agreed. Its a public blog, if he had a problem with people discussing it here, he wouldn't have posted what he had. Or at the very least, he wouldn't have made his blog so visible here on coasterbuzz, by, you know...putting a link to right in his signature.

Here's a link to my blog, please don't read it! *** Edited 5/10/2006 1:38:17 PM UTC by matt.***

As much as CP enjoys "teasing" so too does Jeff. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Sometimes I think some of you live on an island.

This is Jeff's playground. He is the king.

My point (albiet an obviously miscommuncated one) is that hanging on every word, and disecting every phrase, seems a bit strange to me.

Matt, your point is well taken. But where does one draw the line.

Sometimes the cult of personality here gets a little thick.

If I had been hanging on every word, I would have posted the entire paragraph. I dissected nothing, rather I simply posted a few relevant phrases so as to prove the relevance of the link.

This is ridiculous, I don't even know why I'm arguing with you.

Then simply leave, and stop preaching from on high.

I know what you mean and I can somewhat see your point. But the truth remains that there is a small group of people who are in the know and a huge amount of people who wishes desperately they were in the smaller group.

Persoonally, I think its kinda fun. :)

Alas, it is even more fun to get people all twisted for no real reason when you are waiting for a long boring meeting to start.

No desparation here. Whatever it is, so be it.

IMHO the internet has fueled an unhealthy "I need to know NOW" mentality, and for me it's gotten old. I've stopped watching POV of coasters I have not yet ridden...I've stopped checking construction pics...I really don't care to play detective and find out what's underneath the blue tarp at Cedar Point [although the thread about it is HI-lariously entertaining!].

I enjoy the beauty and wonder of being surprised. It's the same reason I don't secretly unwrap my Christmas gifts the night before, then rewrap them and act surprised come Christmas morning.

YMMV, of course ;)

Thank you, I knew someone "gets it" the same way I do....playing Saturday-night QB is WAY more entertaining than playing Monday-morning QB anyway...

...and I think it shows remarkable insight into the industry when you can just flat-out GUESS what a park is getting, or even SHOULD be getting... (hint: Ka and Tatsu were NOWHERE to be found on my "suggested additions" lists).... ;)

I dont think not telling what one is not at liberty to tell (And still have his contacts) is teasing.

Sometimes mentioning somethings on the way is more hassle than it's ever worth in throwing a teaser.

So does that mean people get voted off, or can I just kick them off?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but don't you regularly throw people off the island anyway?
Yeah, Jeff: CoasterBuzz Island, the survival show!
Imagine the physical challenges. You will ride the Mind Eraser until you either faint or beg to be off it.

Natural Selection, has gone to the Point.

could be fun.

It's more like an "I want to be the first to know so I can blab to everyone I know, plus a few thousand I don't know too" mentality. So what is the prize for the first correct guess, or any correct guess for that matter? I could run out and buy a pack of stickers, I suppose.

About those gifts, Moosh... c'mon don't you shake them, even just a little bit? ;)

Maybe the big event will be parks adding, new steam tractor/sinkhole rides. with, uh, Flameco dancers.

It's been a long time gone, Constantinople.

I think his mention was going back to the old band They Might be Giants, so it is a giant announcement. Or it might be a giant announcement.

Resident Arrow Dynamics Whore

It might be.

And they're not old. John and John are still alive and writing a LOT of music. They're almost always on tour. Their podcast churns out new stuff and B-Sides. They are releasing full new albums online (WITHOUT DRM because they don't suspect their fans are all criminals).

And they're responsible for such music that you hear on a regular basis as The Daily Show's theme, Malcom In The Middle's theme, and "Different Town" from HomestarRunner.com.

Don't call them old! *** Edited 5/11/2006 3:15:38 AM UTC by Michael Darling***
