What I think CP should do.

CP does not have a space problem...as I recall they even said so on their webpage. How much more proof do you need. That is why there is R&D.

Whose Line is it Anyway?
CP has a huge space problem. They have that tiny peninsula, and that's it. Hell, everything is already tightly packed, and will get more and more packed with each new addition. It's definitely the most crowded park I've been to, even though it doesn't have as many guests as other parks... They oughta tear down some crap rides, trash the parking lot, and expand on that. Then they could do that crap monorail idea... *** This post was edited by Everdred on 9/23/2000. ***

I doubt that CCI would do the Rye Aireoplane design, that seems to be more like a GCI to me. Anyway, I personally think that CP needs to build a parking garrage first to help with the land problems, then a Wild Mouse would be great, in tandem with a Invertigo or a Premier lauched coaster.

Six Flags America IS a Six Flags park!
It's kinda a shame the CP hasn't done any work with CCI, especially since CCI is based in Ohio.
I think CP should mantain Mean Streak better before adding another woodie to their lineup. It will only go to crap in a few years from lack of maintainance anyway. A lot more man hours go into keeping a woodie running great compared to a steel coaster.

Yes Cedar Point has limited space. There are rumors that the Cedar dorms will be gone soon and that will free up alot of space.
yeah, call CCI or GCI up and tell them to fix the Mean Streak with new Millennium Flyer trains and then build a cyclone on the beach.
CEDAR POINT DOES NOT, I REPEAT DOES NOT have a spcae problem, its been said many times before.

Only A Few More Weeks To Go Full Force. At The One and Only Cedar Point.
Ha! Lets see a good explanation as to why all the rides are crammed into the park...
We know that the rides are crammed together. A space "problem" would be that they don't have anymore room to build, but there are still bits of land around the park where they could build things (crammed together, yes, but there's still room to build.)

A bad day at Cedar Point is better than a good day at work.
I'm didn't read the whole convo, so I'm not sure if anyone has suggested this yet or not, but I think that Cedar Point is going to need to splurge soon and take out the parking lot and have a tram take you across the causeway, it would attract more and give plenty more space. Then if they were to have that space I would love to see them get something in the lines of Incredible Hulk. I rode that in April and it was absolutely unbelievable. I loved it. I would like to see something of theirs shot out of a tunnel, flying under a bridge and through mist or something along those lines. I don't know, wishful thinking I suppose.

"MF Tickler Hill"
3-4 years ago, when they announced that Mantis would be the next ride, everyone said, "Where will they put it??". Then a year ago, we had the same debate about MF. Now, heading into 2001, the same, darn debate appears. Some of us have, flat out, failed history. If they want to build a coaster, the space appears like a mist in darkness. One morning they wake up and BAAM!! it's there! No matter what they plan, space will be made to accommodate the ride. Since cash flow is the reason for the ride, space will be provided. They are already 2 years in advance on new technology anyways. What do they care about what we think?

What should they put in?? What should be next??

1) Anyone that thinks a Wild Mouse should NOT be the next coaster, needs to seriously, place their hinny in one of the cars and ride one. Exterminator, Wild Mouse (Hershey) and Wild Maus (BGW) are amazing rides. Exterminator being the greatest. Cedar Point can do this with minimal cash and please the GP during an off-Big Coaster year.
2) They need a woodie that will not become a large marshmallow camp fire...such as Mean Streak. Anything along the lines of the Wildcat at Hershey will be outstanding. That coaster is tops for size and space.
3) A great atmosphere plan for the boardwalk area. If they are to build this, like Jeff said, then one (or two) coaster(s) with the ol' Coney Island feel to it. Games, Hot dog stands, and the smell of hot grease from a wooden coaster.

I can't wait for the announcements for 2001 to start flowing on this website. The riding of summer is gone up north, but the fun of rumors and the excitement of these announcements will be a great replacement for the winter blahs!

Have a great fall everyone!

There's nothing like a woodie...
Cedar Point officals said that ride are built over each other and over the midway to bring more fun to the midway. *** This post was edited by Andrew on 9/25/2000. ***
I agree, I like the way that the rides are so close together; there's fun everywhere you look!

I really don't care if a park has rides packed together or spread out. If a Rollercoaster/Thrill ride is fun, its fun.

Why move DT when they don't have to? The best place for a CCI twister is one of the very, very few places that Cedar Point could demolish and I don't think five people would care. Where is this? The once not so good now very bad Peanuts' Playground. I mean walk by there any time of day and usually the employees out number the guests in there. Keep DT get rid of Peanuts' Playground it's as simple as that, and for the last time Cedar Point does not have a space probablem.
Cedar point has 364 acres of land. As a comparison, Busch Gardens Williamsburg has 100, Hershey has 110 and Knotts has 150 (these numbers all come from the parks official websites). I tried looking up some other parks, but Paramount and Six Flags do not have the size of the parks listed. I am sure there are many parks bigger then CP, but CP has a lot more land then people think.
Is that, by any chance, talking about land currently covered by Lake Erie?
They dont need to take out anything.my cousin works at CP and he said that they will keep removing parking lot until it is all gone and we will have park downtown and take buses in.
Did CP say that there were going to buy some Farm Land or something?
