What I think CP should do.

They should move Disastor Transport out of the building and put it somewhere else in the park. They should also tare down that building it's in. Then, build the CCI or GCI for the boardwalk project. I'm not sure about a wild mouse, it would be good, but I think it would be cool to have a record breaking Dive Machine or a TA2K. Oh well, thats what I would do.

I kinda agree, but I like Dt as DT, who knows

Number 1 And Only Cedar Point
Yeah I liked DT in the dark too, but I think it would be cool if it was outside. Maybe theme it as a run away bobsled or something.

(sarcasm alert)

You know, that's a good idea. They really should theme DT as a bobsled. :)

Sorry about that. For those who don't know the legend, Disaster Transport was known as Avalanche Run from 1985 to 1989. Basically the ride was steel bobsled. You can still see the wooden shingles of the "themed" station when in the Space Spiral.

However, I don't think there's any going back to those days. The big reason the ride was enclosed in the first place was to keep the elements out of the trough. Sand from the beach and water would collect in the low spots and make for quite a mess (so the legend goes). Heck, they still can't escape the water in there thanks to a leaky building. That's why the indoor coaster doesn't run in the heavy rain.

They should put in something that duels like dueling dragons or lightning racer. Maybe some sort of dueling b and m floorless or inverted. If they had something big that dueled or raced it would ride a lot of people per hour.
A CCI or GCI would be perfect in the spot DT inhabits (nothing better than a wooden coaster overlooking a beach), but I don't think CP would ever take DT out because they don't want to lose a coaster in their coaster count. Maybe they could take out that annoying Bernstein Bear playland (which isn't even themed to the Bears anymore) and put a GCI twister there. That section of the park definitely needs a coaster because that would spread traffic out a lot more.
Well I think that side of the park is kinda finished, but if they take out some of the crap that you see on the map then a nice out and back would do well. I gotta feeling they may go for something not too expensive for 2002 then get something big in 2004.

Coasters- a little slice of heaven
Yes!! 2004, my senior year!!!:)

Magnum-Just Ride It!!!
What "I" think CP should do is put in a wild mouse coaster (possibly enclosed) for 2001. Then for 2002 they should build a CCI woody either with the old CP Cyclone in mind or the Ryeland Aeroplane coaster in mind. Place this coaster on the boardwalk as it would have the old time nostalgic feel to it. 2003 they should add more flat rides. 2004 they should put in a Thrust Air to shatter all speed and height records for that time. That is my opinion. Will they do this. Probebly not. Oh well I can dream. Most likely there will be something big in 2002. I hope it is a woody. CP needs a good world class wooden coaster badly IMO.
Nothing will at happen to DT in the next four years.

Hey s, it's called Gemini!
I think cp should get another inverted coaster because raptor was just like the biggest thing when it opened and everyone just had to ride it. It is very unique and that is what makes inverted coasters so popular. Rapor still is one of the most popular rides there and I would be happy to see another one there. And it should be called Raptor II flight of fear.

Elroy, Gemini is a steel coaster. Wooden supports , but tubular steel track, therefore a steel coaster.

Gotta ride 'em all!
Also Gemini is not a dueling coaster.
Sorry, but the idea of another inverted sounds pretty stupid. But you never know........

Coasters- a little slice of heaven

I can almost gaurentee that CP will not be taking any coasters out in fear of endagering their ever famous coaster count. A wild mouse would be nice, because that would secure there coaser count, and it would be nothing too big and bad to terrify the GP. DP is still worth riding to me and I hope it stays, for it's got a/c to aid me on those boiling summer days. It's nice to have a dark ride in the park also. I agree 150% that CP needs a good wooden coaster, not to trash Blue Streak. I have heard some rumors that Cedar Point (possibly Cedar Fair) has signed a 3 coaster contract with B&M, and that they will be following up Raptor and Mantis with a floorless in 2002. That is just a rumor that I heard, but if it's true, you will hear no complaints from me. I doubt that this is true, but hey, who would have believe a 300 foot coaster that goes 93 MPH last year?

Rollercoasters: They're not a hobby, they're not an interest, they're an ADDICTION!
I dont know about you all but wildcat is about as close to a 'mad mouse' as you could get. If they get anything, it should be a sitdown mega-looper. Personally, I could care less if its floorless or not, but the launched idea seems okay. Of course nothing satifies the masses like a good woodie (get yo' minds out the gutter!).
All of you have been talking about so many new coasters over the next fwe years, but has anyone thought of where they would go. The only way CP could add anymore great coasters with out taking away that comfortable fun park atmosphere would be to tear out the entire parking lot and have a huge garage set up across the causeway. This would be way to expensive. So the only way CP could expand other than that would be to start removing some old outdated rides and replacing them with new competitive ones.
They already lost that comfortable park atmosphere a long time ago...
As Jeff has said many times, especially at GTTP, Cedar Point does NOT and will NOT have a roller coaster contract with a company.

Why trap the park in a contract that the park may not want fulfilled?
