What has happened to Coasterbuzz?

It's my understanding that M:TR's track would need heavy re-profiling to withstand the initial thrust of a launch mode;)
However, that's only what I've heard. You'd actually have to ask someone with M:TR in their track record for a better idea................

It's funny. What this whole discussion comes down to is, CoasterBuzz has become a community of sorts. Depending on personality, some newcomers will fit right in (hi, Dawn!), some may be a bit put off but come for the content, and some may go running for the hills. That's what happens. Look at rec.roller-coaster (that's a newsgroup for those of you who don't use netnews). Same situation, only not as easy for many people to use, and an older community. (In fact, recently an RRC bigot was telling me that the reason he likes RRC and doesn't like CoasterBuzz, is because "RRC is a community, while CoasterBuzz isn't yet because it's too new". I think this topic, if nothing else, proves that CB HAS matured to that point.)

Rob, the "content" of this thread, for MY interests, is WAY better than the DDR thread.....not that I've had the inclination to read the whole thing....Den just won't let that thread die, will he...;)
But this thread, it's like the chronicling of the Fall of Rome...C'buzz used to be so pure...ROFL.
If you wanna stalk in Chambana, I suggest you dont do it in the springtime. The stench of cow manure can be overpowering....(then again, it's not unlike Coasterbuzz at times...;))

jeremy-it's not just the *smell* (those asterisks are useful at times) anymore. Out at the south farms, they're using some chemical or something that's poisoning the quad squirrels and birds...there are dead animals all over campus...it's spooky.

yes, dawnmarie, those asterisks *are* useful, aren't they....;). I just fail to understand why "that guy in FL" gets hassled about them....they make the writing more clear, and the reading more FUN....and I don't get asked as much "Whaddya mean by that?".....oh, and you are NOT too old to be stalked. Just too young to be stalked by ME...;)
Jeremy - IIRC you didn't too too hot on those oral exams either ;)

I don't think RRC is much of a community anymore. It used to be a very friendly and fun place back in the "golden age" of 1998-2001, but trolls, intolerance, and holier-than-thou attitudes have devastated the place. A lot of the people that were fun left and many of the most trollish and sour folk stayed.
Coasterbuzz right now "feels" like RRC did back in 1997 or so, many people coming together in friendship and learning about different parts of the country. Fortunately, due to the one advantage CB enjoys over RRC (moderation), trollism is not bad at all over here, and maybe that will allow the community to grow and not splinter. I hope that the killjoys don't win out over the people that like to mix in a little fun with their coaster-talk.
