What has happened to Coasterbuzz?

Donatoe's thin crust is the best I've ever had.

Saurbraten is really really good. Definitely unique. Anyone know where to get home-made saurbraten in Ohio?

Rollergator: They have the fake boxed stuff in the stores. In a yellow box made by Knorr (knorr soup mixes) It says Potroast on the box an in parenthesis it says "Saurbraten"

CP Silly....don't EVEN try to sell me pre-mixed boxed sauerbraten....I grew up with the Schnitzelbank on the player piano fer crying out loud....my family's so German, pickled herring is *de rigeur* at family gatherings...(not good IMO, mind you, but "customary")....

Don't know about Ohio, but I know where I'm gonna find some next time I'm in Indiana....(whenever THAT might be, LOL)...:)

They do have recipes for *home-made* on the internet. I've just been too lazy to make any and I'm sure that doesn't even come close to authentic.

They used to have a place here called The Haufbraugh House (pretty sure I butchered the spelling) but I think it closed :( . Real good german food there.

Speaking of German, I have a question for you gator, do you speak it? Because someone once told me that one of CP's rides was named something * not so respectable* in German.

"CP Silly"... try Schmidt's, German Village in Columbus. Best. German food. Ever.

Gator - I like the Animaniacs version, with Professor Otto Von Schnitzelpusskronengishietmeier.

In the last couple of months, I've seen this site go way downhill in terms of being a fun place to surf. It seems like there are too many threads that just become nonsense after the first couple of post. There's a lot of graphic sexual talk that's been going on also. Am I prudish? No, but I think this site is supposed to be a family site. I hate to say it, but there are few people that are ruining it for me. It's like some kind of clique that has inside jokes that no one else gets. An enthusiast friend of mine has said the same thing.

Did we ever address his concerns? HAHAHAHA!!!!! :)

'Gator - I'm half Polish but my Mom is 100% Polish. It's her side or the family that kept the tradition of holiday keilbasa going through the years.

Moosh - 1/2 Polish, 1/2 Irish...does that make me too dumb to stop drinking?

You folks out in Indiana, Ohio, FLORIDA, would not know good german food if it bit you in the arse. Come out to Milwaukee sometime and between all the German and Polish cuisine here you will have to buy two seats on the plane to get home again. Sauerbraten is good, BUT all the various types of sausages (here come the double entenres) you can get here like bratwurst and rotwurst and weisswurst not to mention the best Polish and Italian sausage you will find anywhere. Between that and a nice cold beer, you are set in Milwaukee...

Well Bob, with "Operation Wicked Twister", you wont accomplish your goal eating the Wisconsin cuisine. :)

Its rice cakes for you buddy. :)

R&R McDonalds...why is that even there? I somewhat enjoyed Ed's, although our waiter wasn't nearly as mean as he could have been. Kinda ruined the whole reason for going there.

ChiTown: See why I am on a diet, all this fattening German cuisine up here?

Matt: At least the Debevics downtown Chicago has rude people(although they used to be much worse a few years back and then it was a lot of fun. I was labeled as 'high maintenance' there years ago and the label has stuck among my friends. The Debevics in Milwaukee is totally tame and in fact they have made it more of a restaurant to bring your kids to. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

If nothing else, this thread had proven that we need an "anything goes" forum where people can vent. But I guess it's just more fun to talk about non coaster related topics in a coaster related forum.......kinda like drinking when your underaged.
Antuan - was thinking the same thing myself. Change of heart, Jeff?

Ed Debevic's in Milwaukee went out of business recently... they were in debt $168,000 or something and hadn't paid rent to their building in a looooong time. Kinda sad, it used to be so fun! :(

There is no "e" Donatos.

Franchise pizza is never as good as stuff made by local folks. My favorite anywhere is Pizzazz near Steph's university. White pizza with Cajun chicken chunks on it... a masterpiece.

All right, I submit, you win, but how about removing that slogan about bringing you more of what you want (coasters) and less of what you don't want (noise)? By the way, Haussener's closed several years ago. It was my parent's favorite restaurant.

-----------------

But Jeff - Donatos *is* local pizza in Columbus!

Antuan, one thread seems to be sufficient, I doubt we'll see a whole forum dedicated to it.

Edit: Not saying I'd be against it. :)

Donatos is sorta halfway between local and franchise pizza. It's regional I guess you could say as is Cottage Inn. Only in SE Michigan and one store in Toledo.
