Welcome back PPPers, how WAS your ride?

No you didn't...seriously, I would have never guessed!

My favorite moment of entire day is when the Downdraft ride-op actually thought I was a CP bigwig and told me how much he loved my park. I guess I make a convincing Dan Keller. He then asked me if I was considering getting a Downdraft for CP. I said, "We're thinking about it!" heh heh! Seriously, I only wish CP would get a flatride that is that intense.

As for Phoenix...I can say nothing more than WOW. I'm going through withdrawl now, seriously. The ride actually made me start to say "Legend what?" (but I caught myself before I finished). I didn't think airtime that powerful was possible. Twister was definitely the surprise hit of the trip -- I didn't expect it to be THAT good. That sideways pop of air going into the helix (in the front of the train) is probably my new favorite moment on any coaster. And FINALLY learning how to snap flyers was a treat. I think I'm addicted now!

I had the time of my life. We had a great group, rode a lot of great rides, and observed a lot of, should I say, interesting people. I will definitely try to make it back next year, but I think I'm going to come a little later next time (so I don't have to blow so much money on ride tickets to get me through the 1st part of the day!)

Still, the event was utterly phantastic!!!

Raven and Legend and Phoenix...OH MY!

Wow, I am still recovering from the 19 million hours in the car in the past few days.

PPP was simply amazing! Words can't express how much fun I had; and how in love with Knoebels I am. After Pheonix night rides...yeah, I'll let someone else finish that sentence for me. Still laughing about the Power Surge incident. To reiterate, SO glad I got to hang with everyone and experience the truly awesome power of Knoebels. Until next year Phoenix!

So how much did Kara enjoy PPP? Let's just say she was heard to say "Shivering what?"

I could not believe when that op spun the car on Power Surge before it was running. That was funny. Hmmm, maybe I have hopes for an American park to put in a Waltzer after all... :)

Greg she said Shivering what after riding Phoenix AND Twister. We converted her.

But of course ;)
I just didn't see anything to the ride but drop, turn, drop air, air, turn, air, slow doubleup/down, hard slam, turn, air, air air.... and none of those pops of air ever felt as good as any air you'll find in Indiana.

You ever posted on CoasterBuzz..... on druuuuugs!

That's cool, though -- some people love airtime, some people look for other things in their coasters.

Not only was Kara a convert at PPP, I seem to remember her prostrating herself before Talon. I hate to see what she did at SFGAdv (did you guys ever even get there?)

Coaster Clown, all you did is describe an air-filled extravaganza, and you didn't like it? Whoa! Guess there just isn't pleasing some people, eh?

Peabody, again, glad you had such a great time. I want to ride High Speed Thrill Coaster even more than Twister according to all of the comments on it.

Nasai, as amazing as HSTC is twister still tops it ;)

Thing was crazy.

And Greg, Kara did make it to GAdv.

"TK-173 reporting in...."

Phor the 128th time, yes, I made the kostume. No I didn't subliminally put KKK on my backpack. Yes I could see just phine! No it isn't heavy. No I didn't ride with it on! LOL I did however change phor a couple hours so I could get a newbie aquainted with some oph the charm that is Knoebels.....which included a phew phlights on Phoenix and Twister. We'll have to return (gee darn) to phinish where we lepht oph. I can't believe I missed the RCT-like slide! Auuuuuuugh!

I really enjoyed the swap meet (didn't spend a dime!), and the bonphire (excellent dogs!). But my phavorite moment at PPP was the single Phlyers ride I was able to squeeze in. I hadn't done a 180 since PKI 2001! It was during that time when, I too, heard those 2 words I will never let Kara phorget! And to think she just acheived worldwide phame on that ride......Most of the kostumes were great. I agree that a couple oph them went a bit phar, but what can ya do? My phavorites were "Phoenix" (who looked like a Christmas tree going around the circuit) and the DAFE group. Kudos to you both! Since I don't pheel like ruining the event phor anyone again next year, I'll stick to a koaster-related kostume (hopephully one I can ride in). No arrests were made this year.....

Got home an hour ago.... 2900miles, 4 days, 3 parks, and 2hours 55minutes of video..... absolute blast! Can't wait to go next year! BTW - We did get to SFGAdv Sunday Greg, and the Chiller crew kicked sooo much ass!

Of course we made it to SFGrAdv. The line for Nitro was long compared to the rest of the park, so we got quite a few, ok a LOT of rides on Chiller. We got a ride or 2 on everything else and I just had to re-ride Viper. It's such a POS that it made me laugh all the way through it.

We spent the last 45 minutes of the night re-riding Nitro. I liked SFGrAdv a lot, and I hope to get back there next year some time. I don't think I'd go there during the regular season, though. Seems as if it would get packed very quickly. Can't wait to go out there for Superman.

Well I thought it was about time I'd chime in. PPP was simply amazing.

Let's start with the weather: absolutely perfect! Sunny and warm both Saturday and Sunday. Lili came and went in the wee hours Saturday morning. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I'd be wearing shorts during ERT.

PPP would be nothing without the people. Yeah, some key players were missing [Nasai, 'Gator, Bass] but it was a wonderful opportunity to spend some time with friends at the end of the season. Too many to mention by name, so I'll just thank everyone for a wonderful time.

The coasters:

Twister - I have yet to visit Knoebels on a non-PPP day so I can't compare how it runs during the year. I found Twister to be running very well with an insane air/lateral moment entering the helix in the front of the train, two nice moments of air on the first two drops in the back of the train, and the second half was fast and fun. I wasn't the least bit disappointed.

High Speed Thrill Coaster - fun as usual, thanks to Don, the coolest ride op in the world. Kiddie coaster my ass...right, chris?

Whirlwind - skipped it this year.

Phoenix - OMG! Of all the PPP's I've been to Phoenix was performing the best I've ever experienced. IMHO a coaster is "excellent" if it offers great rides no matter where you sit, and outstanding rides in the very front or back. Phoenix was delivering such rides. My favorite seat remains 1:3, however 2:1 was also performing well [and had a shorter line] and any row in the last car was also amazing. There was air everywhere, from slight to "OMG!" Also, the turns [especially the one before the home stretch] were amazingly fast and lateral-filled. I ended each ride laughing.

As for the rest of the park, the Haunted House and Haunted Car Ride rocked. It was especially fun seeing chris get scared by the air horns. There was a person standing in the stobe light room in the Haunted House that just completely freaked me out! And the Flyers....well let's just say my back and sides are bruised, and that's a good thing.

Hangover day was great...low key, small lines, good friends...the perfect way to end the year.

Moosh - who *WILL* get to Knoebels on a non-PPP day in 2003.

Heh,heh...I was wondering if anyone else noticed that! We did manage to grab a ride in 1.3 (and it was great, as usual) but the rest of our rides were in 2.1. I thought it was just as good as 1.3, and it always had a short line because of the crowd waiting for 1.3.

Yup, 2.1 is a good seat. 2.3 gives a pretty good ride, too.

Aaron & Greg - as far as I'm concerned there wasn't a bad seat on Phoenix, just some that were better than others.

Thanks for the shout-out, Moosh! All day long Saturday I was checking the weather for Elysburg, and thinking "wonder what they're riding now?". Glad the weather turned out great for the event, I was worried!

As it stands now I don't think I'll be at PPP next year either...but we'll have to look into that "visiting on a non-PPP-day" option you were talking about, LOL!

Bass - have you checked to see how far Knoebels is from Williamsburg? LOL!

nasai - dude...you should have warned me that chris is a giggler! Sheesh!

'A' giggler?

I'm *The* Giggler! :)

chris, who thought HSTC kicked Steel Force's ass!

Moosh: 348.9 miles, or 6 hours and 35 minutes according to Yahoo maps. Yes it's far...that's why we hit the Jersey Shore, SFGadv, and SFA on the way there, LOL!

Mike Miller - on the gravy train to coaster nirvana.

Bass - That sounds like a scheme that I would come up with.
