I think it's planned from SF' headquarters.
The way SF does bussiness is that they've only got so much cash for expenditures each year that only a handful of thier 39 parks will get anything next year and that decision is based on attendance figures as well as profit reports from each park.
That's about all I know about the process and maybe someone with a bit more knowledge in this aspect of the industry will be able to contribute some more information.
WOW, so they get a ride based on their attendance, so is this why SFMM gets many rides, I personally though SFA was just taking a break off of bringing in something new every year and actually saving money for something big. WAS I FOOLING MYSELF, well i see what you mean, but hopefully since the Six flags has a head quarters I would expect that they know whats going on in the amusement industry and whos building what, and so it would appear to me that they would know what competition faces SFA in 03, so I hopefully they will do something about it.
One more question, does the head quarters also plan what the ride will look like, I mean wasnt X a custon design who designed it, or requested it. AS for sfa who will plan exactly what type and when in the park it will go?

Hey, I still say Lakeside can put up a fight!
:)
Anyone else notice that the park down the road from the Six Flags headquarters doesn't receive much? So Astroworld fans don't feel too bad, Frontier City gets less more (if that makes sense).

thats cool, so SFA , well in general six flags parks can pick what they want based on what they are allowed to spend?
so therefore who picks what they want, the boss of SFA, or what?
I'm not expecting them to get anything in 2003 due to SF's choice of spending only $125 million next year.
SF spent $140 million on expenditures in 2002 and it sure didn't get much for the parks but I'm hoping that since SFA took a year off that maybe next year will be their turn to get something, for example SFNE got a coaster this year B:TDK now maybe they'll take 03 off and that amount of money not spent on SFNE can go towards SFA getting a new coaster or possibly a flat ride or two.
thats cool, but I just hope IT IS NOT ANOTHER CLONE, but............................. if it is, atleast its a coaster, i'll still ride it.
I just want the park to have something unique, not just unique to the east coaster all the time, like Batwing when it debuted, but something unique in the Six flags chain. WILD one is the only coaster not cloned. (I THINK) I mean SFNE has superman, B:TDK-- those arent clones either. SFA need to go unique thats why I hope they get a B&M stand up, cause B&M have new seats their stand ups and maybe new layouts.
