I've sorta been getting tired with PKD of late, cause they haven't put any new interesting and unique rides in the park in the last few years.
does this count.............
There are no bad coasters, only better coasters!!
If the mods say its okay to post a link, I'll do so tomorrow.

By the way, it's spelled Smurf.

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.
Personally I found SD:HM to be an excellent dark ride with some great landscaping to boot.....now if they can just do something with that giant piece of firewood that's sitting over by Grizzly, such as torch the sucker & build something "worthy" of riding instead.

I rode it a few times during ERT but got tired of being bashed around in the rolls and went to go ride something much better: Avalanche.
Here I was thinking that I was the only one that enjoyed Avalanche more than Volcano!
They were on someone's site, both conceptual drawings, and both showed Volcano a bit different. Any help would be appreciated:).

I know a lot of people say the top inversion looks like a verticle loop in this picture.
If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.
PKD has, IMO, one of the most diverse coaster line ups in the country. if u think about it, 3 of their last 4 coasters were prototypes, and Avalanche is the only Mack bobsled in the western hemisphere. wanna talk about a yawner, check out the sister park in southern Ohio.....;)
Tim....braces for flaming....
still trying to think of a good signature...
I loved PKD as a kid, still do. I liked every coaster I rode there, but Hurler was by far in need of some TLC(call the peeps @ PCar for that). Grizzley was great, Volcano was great, FOF was blissful, now if only I could ride DZ and Hypersonic, I'll be happy.

Smerfs never lived in Volcano!
No, but Smurfs did! There used to be three rides in that mountain: A log flume, a train ride and a rotor. At one point the train ride was smurf-themed. They disappeared shortly after Paramount took over.
Hurler rules. And as for Volcano, I greatly enjoy the ride. Far from my favorite, but a great ride nonetheless. I like the analogy that compares it to a giant Volare. I must say, however, that the launch into the sweeping turn is by far one of my favorite maneuvers of all time.

Or perhaps go a better route and treat it like its sister in N.C., then it would be a worthy piece of wood...
Believe it or not, but I have a cousin who finds Volcano to be better than SFA's Superman-Ride of Steel. I'm still trying to figure that one out.
13 Boomerang, 9 SLC, and 8 B-TR clones
The heartlines didn't bash me around at all, they were very smooth when I rode it (March '04), and were certainly better than Volare heartlines...I really don't see how those two rides can be compared in terms of quality.

The only SROS I've ridden was the one at SFDL, but I'd imagine SFA's feels identical (besides being mirrored, its' height and length are slightly less), and I found Volcano to be a much better ride. The helices are extremely boring and forceless, and its only got 3 moments of good airtime. I also don't like the layout very much. *** Edited 11/17/2004 9:21:56 PM UTC by IntaminFan397***
