Volcano:TBC... The myths the legends

I can recall when the coaster was open I heard stories about how the coaster was suppose to be longer and featured a vertical loop (hence the 80ft final drop). I was wondering if you guys ever heard of legends or myths about the coaster..............

There are no bad coasters, only better coasters!!

Think you used enough periods?

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

Just a rumor....the ride was and always was what it is today. Would

I don;t think there was enough space around Volcano to make it bigger and longer. I kinda wish it was a little bit longer.

#1 Steel-Nitro #1 Wood-Shivering Timbers 137 coasters in track record.
Rockrc480, no space? Are you sure about that?

There is certainly enough space in that huge swooping turn area to do plenty of things. It could have started off with a big immeleman (which would still flip it around heading back towards the volcano itself), then go into a loop, and into the second launch.

Actually its a sign of continuation. And side bar.......if you really dont have anything to contribute to the post then why bother...........

An ellipsis is usually sufficient in most other places...

The myth that I heard about Volcano: The Blast Coaster was that it was fun or something.

The myth I had heard was that they contacted Gator Theming, Inc. to do *something* to increase the feeling of outrunning flaming rocks and boulders flying out of the top of the volcano...

Alas, turned out to be *just a rumor* on SwillNetwork...;)

I heard a rumor that Volcano rocks, but Moosh said that was wrong.

Ehh, don't listen. It's a fun, great ride. Also, from what I remeber, there was never a longer version of the ride, but you never know...
I was there the day it opened and it was not longer, but it was and still is very fun.
Smerfs used to live there, but then they got evicted for something more exciting. Good call Paramount!
They did not get evicted...they were sacrificed to the Volcano!
Smerfs never lived in Volcano! I heard it was supposed to have longer trains, but Intamin in all their goodness could not get the train to launch. 2Hostyl confirmed my suspicions about this ride. He said the launch is good, but the rolls were *yawn* It looks like on oversized Volare.

Fate is the path of least resistance.

The rolls have great hangtime and the view is awesome. For the best ride, ride at night when the air is cool. As for the trains, it opened with 8 seat trains and now runs 16 seat trains. The lines were brutal the first year.

Volcano? Man, that POS was one of the biggest letdowns of the entire 12-day ConQuest trip Bass and I took. I rode it a few times during ERT but got tired of being bashed around in the rolls and went to go ride something much better: Avalanche.
I personally like Volcano, it is an amusing ride....but like most stuff at PKD, I dont think its worth more than a 40 minute wait or so. I've sorta been getting tired with PKD of late, cause they haven't put any new interesting and unique rides in the park in the last few years. The one myth I heard about Volcano is that the first time they ran the trains through the ride with the dummies, the dummies came back to the station without their legs......apparently they had cut the hole in the top of the mountain too small. Something tells me thats just a load of bs though.

And Trogdor smote the Kerrek, and all was laid to Burnination. -Strong Bad
