Dweaver is right... the back spike will top out at 150 foot with the back brake functioning. The front spike will be extended out at a 45 degree angle with the twists intact. So, the twists will be more like zero g rolls which will give V2 actual inversions.

Remember this, you can't fight the FAA....

WCUSA-The World's largest theme park is coming!
Theme parks will NEVER be the same!

Do you think that's the reason Chris? The lack of even local  media coverage of this leads me to believe that this change to V2 may have been an agreement by both parties. SFMW could be playing the political game in hopes of getting future attractions approved, much as Knott's with that awful Ghostrider shed. I have heard nothing of the park being forced to do anything, maybe it never came to that.

Either way, I'm sort of oddly intrigued by this bizarre last minute re-construction. This has got to be a first!

I love it how people say oh yea, so and so is right, when we all know they know just as much as a dog about what the fudge is going on here.  From my sources out in Cali, there have been spots dug far out past where it previously ended.  I'm assuming this means tons more track and then who knows what...possibly more inversions, or something crazy.  So people, stop saying others are right when we all know goddarn well they have no f'in clue as to what's going on here.

and Six Flags being who they are will brag about having the first ever double twisting impulse. Messed up.

Even if that was true, WT is already done with vertical construction.  I bet SF they wouldn't make it.

Whichever ride opens up to the public is considered the first.  Right?  either way, it doesnt matter to me.

Gee, thanks for the support :P
They are adding more track because it's required to stop the train at that angle. Did you ever take Physics? DUH! I too have contacts out there and that is whats happening.
BTW, you show your age by cursing me and others out. My guess is around 14. Am I right? :P MAN, I love these boards..hehehe

Yes actually i'm 13...and technically i'm not cussing you out...do you see the actual words?  That's what I thought.  And no, I never took physics plus how do you know that extra track is going to be needed to stop the train at that angle when, exactly as I said before, you have no freaking clue as to what is going on as here.

Ok...you mean to tell me you know exactly what they are going to do with V2?  Are you like the president of Six Flags or something?

Who wants to bet that SFMW reangles both spikes, yet Six Flags forgets to change the name from Vertical Velocity?

Either that or they change the name to OV: Obtuse Velocity.

I bet you're right, Krazy!  That would be about right for ride name at a Six Flags.

I never liked how you could see it SWAYING in kinda high winds.   This was back in July I loved it though going up it :)

Georgia Scorcher...OH yeah it's fire baby!!!
This is really weird, why would they do that? After just one year.  Extremely Weird!
All this work to reduce the height doesn't really make sense. Launch speed directly correlates to height reached, and it isn't like there is no control on speed on a LIM launched coaster. So if they had to make it shorter they could just chop off the last XXX feet and launch more slowly. No vertical removal required.
Glenn, don't make yourself look like a moron because you're making the rest of us teenagers look bad. From my understanding, Chris has many contacts so you spouting crap doesn't make his info any less valid.

I guess we'll find out who's right where construction is finished...:)

Sept. 11th 2001, Slayer released God Hates Us All. The song "Disciple" uncannily describes the events of that day, as well as the anthrax letters that followed.
--Slayer: Thrash band, or the next Nostradamus?

If they are changing V2 cause of the Hight Limit why didnt they worry about that when they built it?

Glenn, theres a magic little button above your post that says "Edit". Instead of making 3 separate posts it makes a lot more sense to put them all into one.
We all have contacts at parks. I talked to the hot dog vendor last summer too. And I went to school with a girl who was a CP ride op. So now I know everything about every park!

Don't believe anything 100% until the press release.

-------------
Planned Parks for this summer: CP, SFWoA, SFGAm, SFKK, PKI, MA, SFStL, HP, KW, SFMM, KBF. Is 11 enough?

I can't see them just angling the twisted spike.  Wouldn't it be very uncomfortable when the train slows/stops to reverse direction.  Depending on which part of the train you were sitting in, you may be thrown sideways into the otsr's.  Dosen't sound like fun to me.
