TTD testing yet?...Too quiet!

3. The 3 Phase testing done with the trains takes a short period of time.

The 3 phase testing starts with a pull through. In this case, a partial pull through.

Let me ask again, did I miss the pull through??? Don't you think somebody would have seen something on a webcam and reported it here?

I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

Yes they are testing almost every day after work on the ride or apperance of it around 5:00 pm they would test most times with two or three trains running. Right now i think they are just sitting on the maintence track. so yes to you answer. After watchin the web cams it appears to not have had a complete pull through. If you dought my reply please tell me why.

First off, the pull through was to be a "Partial" one. What does that mean precisely? It means they have or are planning to pull the train through some part of the course. So it's entirely possible they've pulled the train through the one part they want to already.

Well I might be incorrect in saying this, but the only area of the ride with clearance issues would be the spiral drop.

The supports are all on the inside of the track, unlike Xcelerator where the train passes through two towers of supports on the way up and down from the top hat, as well as passing through the middle of the top hat. TTD doesn't do any of that.

It still seems like a complete pull through should be done, but perhaps the above might explain their reasoning.

Sorry about the wrong url. Try this one. I don't know if it is testing, but this picture might be the answer were all waiting for.

The trains have been on that part of the track off and on for a couple weeks. In fact, if you check the TTD pictures on CP's site, you'll see a picture of the tower and yellow/gold train in that spot from a couple weeks ago. That doesn't mean they've launched a train yet

From looking at the PT webcam too it looks to me like that blue object is more likely the thing (tarpaulin?) under MF on the island. It's been there for quite some time.

oh ok...i thought it didn't look like a train, but i wasn't sure.

I agree with the spiral drop being the obvious spot for verification of clearances, however, I thought a main portion of the pull through would also check-verify track gauge and alignment.

If the only issue was to verify clearances, why would they pull-through MF around the entire circuit? I wouldn't want to be responsible for launching a half-million dollar (guessing) train at 120 mph and not be certain the track was perfect.

So what are the grandstands really for? Just people who need a rest, or people that chicken out for the ride, or both? Still though, I'm not really a racing fan but I think those are really kool.

I was wondering if anyone has seen the home page of the Cedar Point website. If you go to the site at night, the Dragster lights are going...just like the starting lights, and just like they said they would incorporate them into the theming of this coaster. I thought it was pretty kool but I'm sure someone else already has talked about it on another thread. Oh well, Im out.

Actualy, the ride would have to be operatinal on may 3rd for a private park function. Also, do they have a media day sceduale date?
Slightly OT, but think the round concrete area on the left of this

camera view will be a "winner's circle" themed area?

I've heard the media day is May 1st...a mere 15 days away. Can they pull it off? I guess we'll see.

When I originally posted this topic I was just trying to get someone who is local to tell me (us) if they have seen anything. I haven't seen Jeff chime in on this yet. I bet he knows. Perhaps CP isn't talking purposely to increase speculation. There is no doubt in my mind they will make it. I just one someone to tell me that they've seen a launch, even a short one that doesn't make it all the way. True, we most likely will not catch a train in action on the Webcams, but I have seen a lot of prep action going the last few days.
Just so eveyone is aware, TTD has not had a full run or pull through quite yet. They have done a couple soft launches just to test the takeoff, but nothing has gone even a little upward. They are tentatively looking to start full test runs by the end of next week so they can have a full week of testing before CP opens on May 2 for the private event. I am a local, just so you know.
