Right after I ask that "stupid question", I run across this on another coaster site that I frequent. I forgot about that ride. They put a nice sized coaster into a really small space, running it over, under, and around the other coasters there. Looks interesting.

These Timberliners must have the worst restraints I've ever seen. You think OTSR's are bad on your neck? How about these!? What a terrible design.
Hi
Those aren't complete, foam will cover the metal parts.

They should change the name to Asphyxiation. (sp?) I doubt those are restraints for real humans however.
Somehow I ended up reading the first page of this thread by accident, but it got me thinking - is there any non-disney coaster that runs a traditional single station and can actually make good use of 3 or more trains?
It seems like no matter where I go, 3 trains = 2 trains stacked, not extra capacity.

Raptor at CP tends to do a pretty good job. Oh, and Magnum, too. Even then, there's still a pause on the brakes outside of the station. Disney doesn't even seem to have that most of the time.
Raptor, Magnum, Corkscrew, Mantis:TCFKAB, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Gemini, Mean Squeak and Iron Dragon have all done it (Gemini and Mine Ride without ANY stacking at all). Obviously several of those have lost their third trains or frequently don't use them, but they were set up originally to operate efficiently with three or more trains and a single station. Getting away from Cedar Point, you can add Adventure Express, Vortex, The Beast and Diamondback at Kings Island, but unfortunately except for Diamondback, the crews don't often play along.
It would be helpful if operations could go back to significantly faster (yet perfectly safe) operating techniques such as Disney continues to use. Come on, now, if the lap bar is spring loaded to open when not locked, is it really necessary to tug on it? Twice?

Gemini in its six-train days was spectacular. The amount of people that thing could move was impressive.

Maybe my problem is I still go to too many Six Flags parks. As much as things overall have improved dramatically, New Texas Giant opening day had a molasses crew when I was waiting. Only two ops on the platform and the three trains stacked every time.
I don't know why they didn't enforce the locker policy since they had the lockers at the exit (which may have just been carry overs from the Old Texas Giant). Maybe because the temporary entrance isn't anywhere near where it looks like the permanent entrance is going to be? But they did have cubbies and cup holders on the platform.
Then when Titan is running two trains, they enforce the locker policy but then have the loaded and ready train just hang out a little extra every dispatch so it doesn't follow the previous train too close.
I just don't get it.
