Strike up the band because we’ve saved a seat for you on this musical journey with Tiana and friends! The name of the new attraction evolving from the reimagining of Splash Mountain was announced today during ESSENCE Fest in New Orleans: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The all-new adventure which will bring guests into the world of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ film “The Princess and the Frog” like never before is coming to Magic Kingdom in Florida and Disneyland park in California in late 2024.
If you think the "last ride" idiots every October on Magnum are bad, I can only imagine what they'll face tonight.

I’ve already seen quite a few reels and tik toks with people preserving and publicizing their last experience. I guess they (wisely) saved themselves the trouble of waiting til the bitter end.
I don’t have a lot of experience with the ride. I mean, I’ve been on it enough, but during most of my wintertime visits to WDW there was scheduled maintenance and downtime.
I find some of the complaints against the refresh funny. Especially since you can close your eyes and the ride will be exactly the same. Well, maybe a different ear worm.
And I understand the various reasons and that’s fine. I’m all for seeing that no one and no particular group should be uncomfortable.
What I hate, and this may seem equally silly, is the name. Splash Mountain was a great name and to be honest had little to do with the theme. It went right along with the well-recognized trio of MK mountains. This Bayou Adventure seems like a million monikers one can find at any number of regional amusement parks. Surely they could’ve come up with something a little more clever.
That’s all. I’m sure it will be done well and I look forward to trying it.

Spoken like no self proclaimed Disney Parks fan ever
It’s annoying to be in the middle sometimes. Splash is my favorite ride at MK, and favorite flume anywhere. It is a perfect blend of a dark ride and thrills, has fantastic storytelling and great songs. I’m sad it’s closing. I hope it’s replaced by a ride that matches or ideally surpasses the original but that is a really high bar. Im worried this ride isn’t going to have a villain in it (and thus not have as good a story) and that it’s going to be more based on an upcoming D+ series then the movie. If they succeed I will applaud. However if they mess up what I considered to be a darn near perfect ride, I will complain till the end of time.
and for reference, ToT FL>Mission Breakout>ToT CA as the only real comparison to this being done.

If you think tonight is bad, just wait until the CA one closes. WDW crazies are normal compared to DL crazies.

Some of these comments, yikes.
If you consider yourself someone who embraces diversity in all its forms and then hates on someone for enjoying a log flume more than you do, perhaps it's worth some reflection.
I don't have any issue with someone enjoying the ride more than me. (And I enjoy the ride, I just think the theme is over-sentimentalized, so the list of people that enjoy it more than me forms to the left.) But buying and selling jars of water and staging a "telethon" (they don't understand what that is) to scream at customer service people who can't do a damn thing? I don't apologize for mocking them.

Oh, I totally hate people for lesser offenses than ride preference. Am I allowed to embrace diversity and hate?

I thought the same thing, where Disney could’ve kept the name. But, whatever. Really doesn’t matter to me.
Easier to sell an attraction as "new" if it has a new name?
Also, there's the question of what mountain is in the bayous of Louisiana, but maybe Tiana took an excursion to the Ouachitas or something.
Yes, and mine was “why didn’t I think of selling jars of water from splash mountain on eBay? I could have made an small fortune”
No need, the smell alone is enough.
