I just want to stress that I am not being critical but this is a well traveled site and the most convenience should be given to the members.
THanks.
vBulletin does that, and it's annoying because the size of the page gets huge and you can't actually read any of the topic titles. No thanks.

The problem with all that flashy cool stuff is it slows down the page hideously. You have to keep in mind that not everyone connects with broadband, even today. Heck, some of us connect via mobiles while on the road...
Yes, CBuzz could perhaps use some updating, but change for the sake of change isn't the answer...

Agreed. Browsing this site on a modem as a non member is most definitely not fun.
I develop Superior Solitaire when not riding coasters.
While we're on the subject of membership, I could see an addition of more color schemes or even the ability to customize the color schemes to make your own with regards to background color, text color, link text color, etc. (at least in the next version if that's too much to worry about in the current version)
It'd be fun to play with at first, and something to do if I got bored ;)

I believe you're able to change the background color if you join the Coasterbuzz Club.
What I mean is either more choices to choose from, or even the ability to mix and match - rather than a "skin", you can actually customize completely.. so, for example, I could have the background navy, the text bright green, headlines purple, and links yellow. (unless I'm mistaken, I don't think a color scheme exists yet for those combinations). FYI, I'm not saying that I want that exact combination - I was just using that as an example. The site does not (yet) have that functionality.
I remember a while back Jeff ran a promo that everyone got free access as an upgraded member for 24 hours (basically within that time frame, you could log in and see the benefits of being a cbuzz club member - including the color schemes, track record, etc.) I thought it was really cool, and played a huge role in my eventually becomming a member (that and it was cheaper than ACE ;) )
It wouldn't affect me since I'm already a paid member, but is there any chance of doing that again?
Edit: silly typo *embarassed grin*

I'm in the middle of some major refactoring for the forums right now to adapt to ASP.NET's new Membership and Profile API's, so that has to roll before I can get serious about changing CB. Rest assured... there is movement.

You'll never get work in the public sector with THAT attitude.. ROFL! :)
Certain victory.
...not necessarily ones in the general forum threads, otherwise we'd be inundated with oodles of pictures from members all over. It's not always a bad thing, mind you... unless they wind up as part of a signature, then it can get annoying.
...but for the News reports, it'd be nice to see some of the stories posted with some photographs (ones that have them, of course) just to add a little color to the site (example: updated Tatsu construction pictures).
...and as mentioned prior, instead of just link after link to somebody's photobucket picture, it'd be nice to have it show up right here on the screen, possibly limiting the width & height to no more than maybe 640x480 or something.
...I'm betting that 80% of the users on these forums are now using some sort of broadband, so their slowdown shouldn't be too big of a factor. I guess the factor would be if it'll slow down the total bandwidth of where this site is being hosted.
