The Next Clones - CoasterBuzz

I think parks just aren't interested in them for now. I hope Scorcher was not the last of them.

Most of the newer stand-ups were schratched for 3rd and 4th generation coasters. Plus people were complaining about legs and leg problems related to stand-ups and that scared away buyers.

i havent heard any complaints about the Gerogia Scorcher, anyobdy? i hope SFGADV gets one to replace viper somewhere down the line... it would mae a nice fit next to rotting... i mean rolling thunder-(i know, its a great ride).whats up Ragingbullguy, havent talked you in a while!

Isnt Viper at SFGAM a clone of Georgia Psyclone which is a clone of Coney Island Psyclone? I think so.

As for standups, chang is almost a clone of Matis excpet it has an extra corkscrew and is a mirror image.

Its not a "clone," its a re-invented version of the Astroland Cyclone. The differance is the track is muck longer, its taller and its speed is more continious. Plus Viper at SFGAm is one of the very rare coasters that was designed and built by Six Flags. The Viper name came from SFMMback when Time Warner owned the parks. Time Warner had a big tendancy of copying names of coasters from one park to another.

i think the copying name system is lame. we need original names! its more fun! nobody can come up with anything besides names like viper and various other snakes? c'mon...

Ride It: Yeah, haven't got around to aim for awhile, but hopefully soon. As for Georgia Scorcher, it's just another example of B&M's capabilities.:)

OMG! What if SFNE's new coaster will be a clone of B:TR? I mean the layout would be the same. I know it wouldn't happen but wouldn't that be weird? Type-mixing a roller coaster. What else could be done with that technique...

I don't think Raging Bull will ever be cloned, but I am sure there will be plenty more V2's and Deja Vu's going up everywhere, since they have already started.

Are S:UE and the V2s exact clones?

Ohhh, ok. I'm wasn't totally sure. I had always heard they were all clones.

All Impulses are clones, with one or two differences.

Example is a rumored (but I doubt) few feet difference between the V2, V2, and SUE. Also, the lack of a brake on Screaming Condor on the vertical spire, and the lack of a brake and twist on Linear Gale. They are all clones, with minor differences, just like Goliath and Titan, minor differences.

Look at B:TR for example. SFGAm's is 100 feet instead of 105 feet, a minor difference. Yet all the other 6 or 7 clones are still considered clones of SFGAm's, even though they are different heights.

I'll give one more example. 2 of the SROSs. Clones, except mirrored. If being mirrored makes them be not clones, I guess SFStL has an original B:TR layout.

The next big cloning coaster will be GIBs, for the few parks which don't have boomerangs, and Impulses. Also, I bet flying dutchman will be a big cloner, just not with SF.

I agree with many of you about SFNE's coaster being a new standard of floorless clones, like I have stated last year, I'm pretty sure it is going to be called BANE, which is Batman's nemesis who broke his back. Look at the colors or perhaps it will be called "X".

I bet X and the flying coaster will.

Actually, V2 is already a clone itself...ever heard of SFWoA's 2000 Superman Ultimate Escape? V2 coasters did not open until mid-2001.

I think that Talon might become a clone, or Raptor.
