The Legend gets "Two" Changes for 2002

Gives me one more reason to face Santa Claus, IN and thank the coaster gods.

Thanks for the great news Paula.

I first heard the rumor earlier in the day, and that's exactly the first thing that came to mind. I was then shocked when Paula announced it. That is a short brake run, and I don't know there's a whole lot of room for an extra redundant brake or two. I guess we'll see what the CCI folks cook up!

So The Legend has only ran on a one-train operation since it opened in 2000?
And what are PTCs?

Yes, we opened The Legend as a one-train operation. PTC stands for Philadephia Toboggan Coasters, Inc.

what would happen with Holiday World if SF decided to actually open up Old Indiana?

Same thing that happened when Kentucky Kingdom opened...and then became a SF park. We just keep trying to be the very best we can be. It's working so far... :0)

Working very well, in fact.  :)

Holiday World is an incredible place.  The only other park I experience such sheer joy at would be Knoebel's.  This coming from someone who lives only a few miles from Kennywood...  (Don't get me wrong, I love Kennywood, but I'm there so much that it doesn't feel nearly as special as Holiday World)

This past year I made my first visits to both Holiday World and Kentucky Kingdom, in the same weekend.  Since I had (and will have) a Six Flags WoA pass, Kentucky Kingdom was basicallya freebie.  Next year, I'll be returning to Holiday World, but most likely NOT Kentucky Kingdom...

2 trains on Legend is going to be awesome.  Legend is a great ride, and I look forward to trying it again.  Also, hopefully part of the effect will be more people in line for Legend so I can camp out on Raven ;)

See? Holiday World "gets it." It's pointless for parks to go head to head with each other. To be successful, each park has to do what it does best, do what its customers require, and while there will inevitably be comparisons with other parks, that comparison isn't what brings people through the turnsti--oh wait a minute, I almost forgot--isn't what brings people through the gates*. Marketing brings them in the first time, and a fantastic experience brings them back. It isn't rocket science...when you are in the business of supplying a great time, if you provide the customer with a great time, he'll go home happy. And if he goes home happy, he'll tell his friends, and he'll come back again. Holiday World has this all figured out, and they do a darned good job of observing what makes people happy and what gets people mad, doing more of the former, and doing less of the latter (kind of the opposite of what Six Flags does...).

* When they re-did the entrance gates, Holiday World did away with the turnstiles.

Magnetic brakes like on S:ROS and MF? :)

Well, this makes a Season Pass a no-brainer. I may be relocating to Seattle next year, but I'll still make time to come back a few times a year.

Jeff

Holiday World rocks!!!  You guys are our superstar heroes of the industry!
I will be making my first trip to Holiday world next year that is for certain.  Awesome news.
