The Cycle Time for WT was about 2 minutes.

A ride op's primary job function is to get people into the trains as quickly and safely as possible. Any chit chat, friendly small talk, etc is above and beyond the call of duty.

See, *that's* why I have a problem with some CP ops. The description you gave above makes the ops their seem like robots. Just...get...train...dispactched...quickly...

That is also why Disney will always own the guest satifaction polls, because they try to make you feel welcomed, not like you're another number. Anytime I hear CP ops talking it's all about "how many people we got on this ride." Not that that's bad mind you! I really do appreciate people working that hard to get you out of there quickly so as to have a short line. But I will *never* understand how talking to your GUESTS in the park is "going above and beyond the call of duty." When I worked at SFGAm we were specifically trained to do this, it was part of our job.

Are you telling me CP doesn't encourage, no, REQUIRE you to act hospitable to park patrons? If so, that is sad.

And this isn't an attack, I am stating my true feelings. Everyone knows I *love* *love* *love* CP, but one things about the park is how some (definitely not all, there are some very cool ops at CP!) park staff feel as though you're nothing but a number, and how fast can we get these people on and off our rides.

Hey, Shaggy, it's "Sea *$#@&$ WORLD!" LMAO.

In enumerating high capacity parks, I am surprised that Hersheypark didn't get mentioned........

Whenever I went there I did see quite a bit of guest interaction. Those costumes though...ugh...although they are certainly better than the candy striped shirt and blue bowtie I used to have to wear at SFGAm.

I probably shouldn't have said interacting with guests is above and beyond the call of duty as being friendly to guests is definitely part of the job description. But up on the platform, the first concern is definitely safety followed by capacity. Rudeness rarely occurs (at any park let alone CP) unless someone is not following the rules and has been asked at least once nicely to stop. Interacting with guests is nice and all, but up on most of the platforms at CP, there really isn't all that much time for that. I had many nice conversations with guests down at entrance or over at turnstyles when I had the line stopped for a minute. That is the place for chit chat, not when you're trying to get trains out quickly and safely. Quick one liners or asking a small child if he really wants to ride or asking someone how their day is going as a train is rolling in is about all you're going to get from ops checking bars because if you make a conversation, it might make the person you're talking to happy, but its going to make the other 200 people on the platform unhappy that you're not moving the line as fast as you can. There's a balance that has to be struck and in my opinion CP crews do it pretty well. Notice what crews at CP do as a train is going out - they watch it. This is to make sure every bar is down, every seatbelt is buckled, etc. They don't turn away and chit chat, get a drink, or take a bite of a burger like I've seen somewhere else.

Seems like these kind of topics frequently turn into a SF VS CP thing. Why is that? I say when you can support 2 different parks, you will someday be able to support three. When you can support 3, you will soon be able to support 4.

Yes, some parks are better than others. Yes, we all have our preferences. If it were up to me, I'd rather there were a lot more parks open, no matter who ran them. After all, would you rather have 1 park that runs perfectly or (in Ohio's case) 3 parks that are all different and have something unique to offer? Since my only true options are Visionland or SFoG, I'd say be happy with what you have. Can't we all just get along?
