The Cycle Time for WT was about 2 minutes.

Which means the capacity is about 960 peeps an hour and this is the beggining of the year. capacity could easily be 1000 or more. This should put a lot of naysayers to bed.

Excellent! Now if other parks could do that with their shuttles..... (not park specific)

Yuppers, 2 Mins from launch to launch and it was within 20 seconds of that for the 5 cycles I checked. Forget Shuttles, I have saw full circuits load slower then that.

Very good point MagnumForce. FoF at PKI is HORRIBLE sometimes.

They really must have up'ed this from media day (DAYUM! they were slow)....I have a hard time believing they got that much......faster, however...yeah...960, if ummm...they uhhhh, yeah, they filled every seat and were able to keep up the two min ummm uhhh dispatch interval EVERY TIME...which uhhh,,,will have some uhhh...delays...so yeah, hmmmm....didn't we already discuss that 1010 pph wasn't possible? I'm confused. :-\

Media days are not normal conditions! Of course they weren't up to speed!

Yeah, generally speaking you're not strapped in and waiting 20 minutes to get a reporter on the damn ride!

I too was impressed. Now that I've been on it a bit, having to hop up into the ride is a somewhat physical activity, and given that, I would think it was slow loading. However, as I suspected, with six people on the platform it is really easy to check restraints. Belts and handles on the side mean you can fly down the row and be on your way.

Once again proving that Cedar Point is the Capacity King!

So how many people did they have working the train? Oh wait, it doesn't matter, cus if CP was single-oping it it'd still be faster than any six flags park I guess, right Po!nters?

I shouldn't dignify that with a response, since I hardly see it as an emotional issue to be inflamatory about, but there were six people on-platform.

I agree Jeff!

Man, some people really need to find something better to do! Get over it!

How characteristic of a true CP snob!

I think the fact that CP even goes through the trouble of getting six people on the platform so more people could enjoy the ride speaks volumes.

BTW, I live in Florida. I went last year and was totally impressed in how they run the park. PKI on the other hand......

PKI has made some pretty good strides the last two years. I think after the whole SOB opening year thing, they really want to kill you with kindness to make you forget about it.

Heck, worked for me with the Flight of Fear rehab alone. ;) Now if they could just get serious with capacity on that ride...

For PKI to get serious about capacity on Flight of Fear, they're gonna have to get over some of their paranoia. Losing the measuring belt would help a lot because of all the people who can fit just fine, but can't manage to manipulate the buckle...

For some reason I start oozing with pride when I hear good stories about CP ride operations crews. I don't know why - I don't even work there anymore (wish I was going back though to be honest! ) From my point of view, operations were fairly smooth yesterday considering it was opening day, there were many ride prides, etc. I'm sure things will only get better as the crews learn how to deal with all the different things that get thrown their way. We saw Bill Spehn inside DT and he made a comment about how he reads GTTP. I thought that was funny!

It bears mentioning that there were some maintenance issues that need to be straightened out up at CP - mainly Magnum's lapbars (close to half of them were broken) and MF's yellow train was MIA. Jeff mantioned that he thinks the guide wheel springs on the trains are worn making the ride a bit sloppy in the turns. I didn't really notice this, but its very possible. On the positive side, Blue Streak was running incredibly and I've even heard good reports about Mean Streak (I didn't ride).

I asked one of the ops on MF and he said the Yellow train is still at Intamin. Don't know if thats true or not, I wouldn't think they would send the train to Europe but who knows. I didn't notice any slop, I was too busy with such awesome sustained floater air filled ride in the backseat. ;)

No, it's not true. While this may over-simplify things, it just wasn't "done" for its rebuild.

The reason I say things like that is because nearly every CP employee (or fan for that matter) I have talked to totally looks down on anyone that works at Six Flags. In general they just seem to have a very "holier than thou" attitude. They seem to think that we have no clue what's going on at our park and we don't care at all about capacity, guest satisfaction, etc.

the train could have gone to europe. one of california screamin's trains went to europe for some reason a couple of months ago.
