That special feeling!

LOL, Jeff!

I got that feeling going to Cedar Point in 2000 when I saw this big blue monster. I almost crashed because I was like bouncing in my seat, LOL. It was like so much *bigger* in real life. I mean, all I saw was a few pictures.

I also get that feeling when I - yeah....

Being the first guest to set foot inside an amusement park, knowing that it is empty.

Also, I don't think I like you that much.

That special feeling for me is when you are about to get off I-71 to PKI, and look to your right and see that monstrosity also known as Son of Beast.

Actually, the same goes for me except I am coming down from the North. There is one section of road, about 15 minutes away from PKI, that Son of Beast, Drop Zone, Eiffel Tower, and Sling Shot are clearly visible above the treeline. That is usually where the adreneline starts to pump.

Coasterfreak1,

Yes, anytime someone mentions CP or any other park while I am at work or someplace else, I perk right up.

Quick story.....

In 1992, I was walking around downtown Columbus with some friends video taping a "bit'" that we were working on for a school project of one of my friends. We were getting ready to cross a street when all of the sudden a huge tour bus almost wiped out my friends and I as it turned a corner fast.

We saw the bus stop at a hotel a block away so we went over to see what the big deal was. Needless to say, we were quite ticked that we almost were run over. When we arrived at the bus, we saw a couple of people talking to two girls. As I walked by them, I heard one guy mention that they had just gotten back from a trip to Cedar Point.

Of course, I ended up looking back at the small group of people who were talking about the park. One of the guys looked over at us and told us to come over. When we walked over, he apologized for almost hitting us. I thought that was real cool of him to do that, even though we knew he wasn't the driver.

Anyway, to make a already long story shorter, I started talking to him about Cedar Point and the coasters there. The rest of my friends just sat back and rolled their eyes because they knew I would be talking about coasters for a very long time. I would say I talked with this dude for about 20 minutes or so.

The guys mentioned that he was blown away by Magnum and loved Mean Streak as well. He also mentioned going to Great Adventure in New Jersey and loving the Freefall ride there. He said they he loved Mean Streak for the speed and Magnum for how tall it was.

The man then asked for the names of my and my friends. When we told him, he then introduced himself.

"Thanks for chatting with me. My name is Sebastian."

As it turns out, it was Sebastian Bach from the band Skid Row (yes, I am showing my age here). I wasn't the largest fan of them but I knew of them and did know they were playing a show the next night. I didn't even realize who it was the entire time i was talking with him. I even managed to get a small bit of the conversation we were havnig on video. Sometime I am going to have to re-watch that tape.

I just got *that special feeling* from being (hopefully) the last completed ballot sent in to Mitch....it may not be *porn*, but it is the *wooden* ballot....;)

I get that feeling when getting close to Dorney Park, on the highway right before you pull into the parking lot, you can see everything. (steel force, talon, lazer, dominator). Seeing all of those from the highway gives me that feeling.

Did you know that the CP causeway flooded one year, that would be kind of funny in a way driving into the point and a tidal wave just comes smashing in front of you i would be scared at first and then laugh my hiney off. Jeff I feel the same way

Driving down 214 & seeing S:ROS in the distance off to the left.

As soon as that intamin monstrosity comes into view you know that you're oh so close to a great day of coaster riding.

I feel the same way, especially when entering the parking lot.

I get that "feeling" when I catch the first glimpse of the American Eagle and Raging Bull from I-94 or when I am heading to SFSTL right after you clear the trees you can see the whole park and the two woodies carved into the hillside. Its a great site and feeling.

LOL,of course once you're in the parking lot you can't see much of anything from there,at least you can get a good view of Two face from the main entrance though.

I get a little feeling when I goto parks that I have never been to before. This past summer, I went to Michigans Adventure, I got the feeling when I saw Shivering Timbers. Wow, thats a site to see.

And then was Holiday World, I got the feeling when I saw the water tower.

And the last park I visited was Cedar Point. The people I was in the car with wanted to kill me! (They were not enthusiasts, they just came for a vacation from our place of seasonal employment) But as soon as I saw Millenium Force I was in shock.

I probably speak for every SFNE fan out there. There is a bridge that goes over the Connecticut River about 15 or so minutes away from SFNE. If you look off to the left you can see Cyclone, Scream, and S: RoS way off in the distance. That is always a beautiful thing to see.

Also, like a minute away from the park there is a huge sign on the left of the road that SFNE is on. At that point you can see the tip of the SkyCoaster and 10 seconds later Cyclone appears out of nowhere. I always liked that feeling too.

Haaaahaaa.... Please Sean, what about your lifesize standup of Sebastian in your room???? You love them, you even have a tattoo across your forearm that says "Youth Gone Wild"..... J/k Ive got nothing but love for you, kid! Happy Belated TurkeyDay!

Okay-I'll try this again. I made a nice long post and it didn't appear...I'll once again give a short version.

I don't get the feeling anymore unless it is something I have never seen before.

My band opened for Sab. Bach and he acted like a jerk.

Thank you for your time.

I know what you're saying about that feeling...after four years as a VF passholder, the in-laws (who at that time, watched CBaby and a diaper-wearing midget) moved out a couple miles past the park.

I had no choice but to drive by 3-4x a week...and it was still special every time.

Then again--PT's construction, Excalibur's turn #1 dismantling/rebuild and WT's retracking during that particular off-season may have had a little to do with it, too...

LOL! Believe it or not but I do know someone that wanted that exact same tattoo.

I hope you had a good holiday bro!

There are several locations where I get that "feeling" when going to a park.

1. Driving down Route 6 towards Sandusky and as you drive next to the airport you can see MF's lift hill from there.

2. Driving down Route 43 from Solon and once you drive over the small incline after Liberty Road, you see SFWoA's SUE and Skyscraper in the distance.

3. Driving on I-71 south and...

(a) You first cross into Warren County,
(b) Cross over a large bridge right before the rest area (I think it's the area around Ceaser Creek State Park). This is when I know I'm close to PKI, and
(c). Seeing the Eiffel Tower and Drop Zone rise above the distant horizon. Then of course when you get off the freeway at Exit 25, the view just gets your adrenaline going.

4. Driving along I-94 and the SFGAm skyline just pops out of nowhere and also driving by the park and seeing Raging Bull right there gets me pumped for my visit to the park.

5. Exiting off I-64 at the BGW exit, rounding the corner and seeing Apollo's Chariot directly in front of you.
