That special feeling!

I don't know about you, but everytime I go into a thrill park or see pictures of it in the early(Dawn) morning I get a special feeling thats hard to describe. For instance I was looking at one of CP's web cams earlier and when I saw the MF and Mantis I wanted to be there. I also think that you get a very special feeling at your homepark. My homepark is Kennywood, it's not the biggest thrilling park as many SF and CF are but it's good enough. If you have ever been to Kennywood you know about the tunnel, if you have walked through it you know the joyous feeling you get. And when you leave you see the big red Kennywood sign. And it makes you think "I want to come back next year." Share yours!

I always get a little "giddy flash" when I clear security at the park and stroll in a bit. Especially at Great America. The sound of the Columbia Carousel and the other sites and sounds just make me feel really good, almost like getting a quick boost of adreneline.

Funny you should mention "special feelings" as I was just talking to someone about this a few days ago.

For me, anytime I near the area near PKI on I-71, I get butterflies. Each and every time. It never fails. It's not a nervous feeling but rather a excited feeling.

When I drive down the causeway at CP, I also get a cool feeling. The skyline of that park never ceases to amazing me, even after hundreds of visits.

i got that "feeling" when i got off the parkway and saw Dorney for the first time. I love that feeling.
I got that feeling after eating at McDonalds right there at the causeway. By the time we've gotten to the parking booths I've done gotten rid of all that "penned-up" feeling that was rumbling in the tummy. Every once in awhile the parking attendants let us go on in when we roll down the windows! :) Sure does save on parking costs for the year. ;)

my worst day coastering is better than my best day fishing.

That special feeling for me is when you are about to get off I-71 to PKI, and look to your right and see that monstrosity also known as Son of Beast. The sight of that coaster always amazes me how enormous it really is, and gets my adrenaline pumping. :)

I get a feeling when I see PKD's Eiffel Tower from I-95 and then sign pops up saying: Paramounts Kings Dominion 5 miles ahead
I have always gotten that special feeling driving up the CP causeway, but I got that overly ill feeling as I had to go through security at Knotts and SMMM... Since ya know, we don't have that at CP.
Hi. I'm a first time poster, but I've read along for a couple of months. SFMM happens to be my home park, and they're only trying to keep us parkgoers safe. What's so bad about that? By the way, I too get those feelings. Naturally they're strongest when I round that last corner, and X's massive structure comes into view.*** This post was edited by AndrewStarzl on 11/30/2002. ***

I feel the exact same thing about Kennywood, steelphantom. Coming out of that tunnel is like entering a whole different world and leaving at night with that big red Kennywood sign lit up completes the experience. I can't wait for opening day, only 148 more days. :(

Driving down the road next to Shivering Timbers, I've missed the parking lot entrance on both my visits cause I was too busy Gawking :)

Is it about coasters or friends? I say both!

I get that same feeling too.

When we get off I-95 south, we get on a ramp that splits 2 ways, one 1 for PKD. As we take it, it starts to ramp upwards, and right around the top, you just get like a sudden flash, and you can see what seems like the whole park. It only lasts for a few seconds tho :-(

How can I forget that rush of excitement I used to get (and still do) when I catch the first glimpse of Cedar Point while on US 250.

Conneaut Lake gives me a strange feeling. For some reason, after I walk into the line for the Blue Streak, I get a kind of "I'm home" feeling.

I only get that feeling from porn.

As soon as that intamin monstrosity comes into view you know that you're oh so close to a great day of coaster riding.

I get that feeling from Raven's lift hill. :)

Whenever I saw Shockwave from the highway coming into great america I always got super excited and wrestless not because of shockwave but because it was the first part of the park i always saw. Or whenever I cleared security.
