Survey Say's Shock Waves Goin

I will be going to the park this upcoming Monday, the 19th, so I will try to get some news on the ride then.

Back to the topic, if the chain was removed one day and put back on a few days later, maybe its just maint. check up. It could be anything really. CedarFairJon, maybe that is the whole reasoning. Its an interesting story, but it kind of makes sense. Perhaps they were just checking around the ride to see the cause of it, and maybe even redoing the trains to make it a lil smoother. Just my hopes, but I hope they modify the ride. Just one part, right after the 3rd loop when it goes into that insanily sharp turn where I always black out.

Also, if the ride is removed, that is a lot of space. Perhaps the waterpark idea? There is still other space in the park where the flyer could go. A lil food for thought.

The ice age killed the dinosaurs, we killed ourselves.

Ok Guess what boys and girls tHE CHAIN IS MOST DEFINATLEY GONE AS OF THE 16TH OF AUGUST!!! We rode on Sky Trek Tower and COndor and there was no chain! Several employees stated that it was gone! Also there are new survey marks on Shock wave's cement footers and there is another new survey marker by Shock wave's Bommerang that says 1585. So that is that!

Have you ever been to SFGAm and seen Deja Vu closed? If you have then go again and it WILL BE DEJA VU!

Sorry I couldn't hear you, The voices in my head are drowning you out.

SFGAm Man, how do you know that any of these "survey marks" have anything to do with Shockwave's rumored removal? How do you know that these "survey marks" aren't for some new cool Fright Fest decorations or something?

By the way, I believe Shockwave is one word.

Somebody obviously does not know where to look for a lift chain.

PS: Why are you being such an ass about this? You're really making yourself look stupid.

What else would they be for. Fright fest decorations, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Shock Wave is two words, you can see for yourself if you look in the park map.

That somebody would be you. If you look at the top of the hill, you can see where the chain should go over the gear at the top. It's NOT there.

What's wrong with everyone? Just because the chain may be gone doesn't mean they are going to remove the coaster.

I'm with Spacecase8310 on this one. I've been seeing Shockwave's lift 5+ days a week for the past few months. If you look up from the base of the lift, you can clearly see the chain goes all the way up.
I'm also with Spacecase8310 and Sky Whirl Guy. The chain is clearly there. Even if you look at the top of the lift you can see it. Anyways why would they remove the lift chain first if they were taking the ride down. I could think of many other parts that would be removed first if they were taking the ride apart. As for the rolling stock...repairs anyone?

If you saw it at the bottom of the lift I suggest checking your eyes. There is a chain at the bottom of the lift but that is for one of the lift's motors.

Here is my question, what exactly did you mean by there is a chain for one of the lift's motors? Are you referring to the chain that is on the motor (basically) and has a counterweight on it? Also, I recommend this, instead of going on Sky Trek Tower, how about walking around to the side of Shockwave (in the parking lot, on the East side) and look directly up the lift. That would be your best view of their being a chain or not. And like many have said, take a picture (and no, you do not need to have these professionally done by yourself or anyone else, just get a disposible and take lots of pictures to make sure at least 1 will develop). I haven't been out there ever since this thread started, but I wouldn't understand the need to remove the chain at this time, especially during the season. And when did they do it? I doubt after the park closed or during the night, in my opinion it wouldn't be the safest time to do something like that.

This topic is going nowhere. I'm only posting on this to tell those of you who believe that the lift chain is gone are sadly mistaken.

The fact is that Maintenance took the blue train off, other than that they haven't touched the ride. That is the fact, 100% true don't argue because you are wrong.

Just because you have ridden the ride a billion times DOES NOT mean you know everything about it and it doesn't make you an expert.

In truth, we only have to wait until Great America announces the new ride's location. (laymans terms: this thread is pointless)Chances are, they won't take Big Blue down without putting somthing in, otherwise, you'd have one helluva gap.

Thank You for challenging TOS: The Ride. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day, here at SFCB.

what i heard is that, the whell asembly came off of the blue train, after the 3rd loop, that is why it is closed, i am pretty sure that is why. i am not saying that is forshure, but i can almost bet that is the truth

You are the one who is mistaken. IT'S CLEARLY NOT THERE. I suggest you see an eye doctor because you clearly need glasses.
