Superman: ultimate Flight worth it?

I know Superman at Great Adventure is a huge hit. But I have never found it exhilerating. It is uncomfortable and bland until the 1st inversion. I don't think it's worth the 3 hours wait.
There are very few roller coasters that are worth a three hour wait, and after youve been to enough parks and do your homework the night before you can usually avoid waiting that long ;).

2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando

I don't understand your question. Is Superman worth a 3 hour wait? There is no coaster out there that is worth me wasting 3 hours waiting for, so for me the question makes no sense. Is Superman worth riding at all? Of course it is. There's no way to tell if the flying gimmick is your thing or not if you don't try it at least once. So once again, the question (as you typed it) makes no sense.

Is Superman worth it to SFGAdv? Well the fact that you indicated that's it's a big hit sounds like a yes to me.

So once again...

It's bland until the first inversion? So do you mean the lift hill?

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!
Haha ;)

I thought SUF was a great experience and far different then the vekoma models. Now only if they would build more "airs" and "tatsu's", we would be set. The SUF layout is VERY bland, and the pretzel is not all that exciting. A normal loop is much better, such as on X-Flight/Batwing/Borg.

meh, it's okay.

What a strange forum topic. Sirchubs has already ridden it and should have a definitive answer, but he seems unsure. Listen, you either thought the three hours was worth it, or you didn't. If you didn't like the layout, then obviously it wasn't worth the wait. In my opinion, I'm smelling a versus topic in disguise.

Well, then there's also that pesky after-the-first-inversion-through-the-final-brakes part that's not so thrilling...

...but, other than those two dead spots - sure, it's a great ride! ;)

Here's a fun fact about S:UF. I have been on it once (the one at GADV). And I go to Six Flags every weekend. I thought the ride is ok, nothing great. Ok, I found it boring (other than the pretzel loop). Weird thing is there is always a multiple hour wait for this thing and I relate that not to ride experience but to more the "gimmick" that attracts people to the ride. The laying down thing for me is uncomfortable and makes me feel vulnerable. Not the position I wanna be in on a coaster. Moral of the story is, the ride doesn't do much for me and I'm not sure I'd run back in line for it anytime soon.
I like it. I don't like it enough to wait more than an hour but I think it's a good ride. Not B&Ms best but far better than neighboring GASM, which never has more than a 10 minute wait.
It's just in a bad area. It's not themed, uses zero terrain (SFOG's Superman is better) and it's just missing something. That said, I do like the pretzel loop.

If I had to rate the flyers I've been on, it would be
Superman (SFOG), Batwing (SFA), Superman (SFGAdv), Borg (PCar)
because Borg doesn't have any place to hang on to but a yellow nub... it's not pleasant to ride.

But at least the park landscaped underneath the ride, unlike some B&Ms in California!

See, I'd take a few spins on GASM over Superman. I'm not saying its a better ride, I'm just saying the wait time for the ride is about on par with the ride quality, which I cannot say for S:UF.

^^ Rob, Tatsu has lots of landscaping...

Oh, wait, you meant the OTHER one... ;)

I really liked my first ride on Superman, and then I rode it again and it didn't hold up. It's nice, smooth, with one GREAT element. I'm sure the GP loves it.

But let's face it, Tatsu owns every other flyer. It's a gimmick done right, and after riding it I can't imagine ever waiting in line for any other flyer.

^ Once the parks LISTEN to what we're telling them about building rides the RIGHT way, they seem to do pretty good... ;)

:)

Tatsu...right ride....wrong park... ;)

I certainly will not knock the flying coasters. Definitely unique and new experience.

Personally, they don't do anything for me.
They actually make me a little sick to my stomach.
I rode two of the ultimate flights and choose not to ride anymore.

Except for giving Tatsu a ride once if i get over that way.

Yeah, the OTHER one gator... the one that people seem to hate even though it's a really good ride. I mean, at least it runs!
SUF's pretzel inversion is worth 30 minutes of waiting. I like the initial climb and the pretzel inversion. The rest does positively nothing for me.

All the flyers are worth a credit lap. ;) After that, I probably won't wait more than 30 minutes for them and that's just once in a while.
