Suggestions for "America"

I'm currently building a park that is going to contain many important events in America's history. Since my LL crapped out on me, I've been building some pretty cool parks in the Mega Park incorporated into the original RCT.

As of now I have:

Paul Revere's Ride (terrain woodie) & the British Fleet (Swinging Ships)

Civile War: Union vs. Confederacy (dueling and racing woodies)

Black Hawk Down (flyer)

The Alamo (mine train)

The Big Dig (non-looping B&M)

Does anyone have any suggestions about other events in the America's history that I could use? I'm pretty certain that I will try to factor in all the wars that we have been in.

-----------------
LocoBazooka--Sevendust, Nonpoint, Stereo Vent, Mushroomhead
Korn Tour (With no name)--Korn, Puddle of Mudd, Deadsy

The Big Dig? Does that have anything to do with Boston? if so, I think you might want to revise your definition of important events. if not, please fill me in...

You could have a water coaster be mostly water in the begining, and then all regular track halfway through. The D-Day invasion! Or, you could have an inverted coaster fly through a city for a bombing raid. It sounds lame, but intertwining log flumes might be a nice was to simulate the famed single-ship actions of the War of 1812 (they would be named Constitution and Guerriere or Java). Any relatively straigth ride in a trench could be WWI. More on this as I think about it. I think it's a really cool idea. But you might be beter off waiting for RCTII, when you'll have way more options in the themeing department.

Where did he ever say the name "The Big Dig" had to do with Boston? Maybe he meant gold digging, or oil digging. It's American History, not the Revolutionary War.

The Big Dig is the largest, most extensive and expensive civil engineering urban renewal project ever. Yes it is an important project...spanning several decades, costing tens of billions, and ridding Boston of the ugly and obnoxious Artery, elevated above the ground level.

One of the reasons I decided to add it to the park was because I wanted to have recent events as well as historic ones. I wouldn't want it full of just coasters themed around wars.

That sounds like a good idea for a park.

You could have a drop tower called the great depression. I don't know too much about history so this is all i could think of.

-----------------
Six Flags, the only chain of parks that can manage to have stacking with a one train operation.

Ooh, love the drop tower idea! Maybe it could just be called "Black Tuesday," for the actual day of the crash. Or it could stay Great Depression. It was just a thought.

I didn't say it had anything to do with Boston, PlayerPunk, I was asking if it did. I have just been proven right in my assumption. I stand by my statement that you (CPgenius) may have to re-asses your perception of what constitues a major event in American history.

I had never heard of The Big Dig. Sounds like a good idea though. Keep us posted.

(SF)Great American - Sorry for that. I guess I just mis-read your post.

You should probably have something based around 9/11. I don't know what... maybe a flyer going through a city, or 2 Turbo Drops side by side, for two suggestions.

-------------
"What am I doing?" "OoohwhAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Formerly Glidein

You could build a Morgan/Hyper and call it Lewinski: The Big Suck, or maybe not.
I think you should have two roller coasters that fly through a tower. You could raise the land as high as you can to simulate the world trade center. Then have the coaster fly trhough one of them.

-------------
Monkies won't attack the noodles, unless the noodles attack first!

LOL@ the big suck.

I don't think something themed after the trade center attacks would be a good idea, unless it was heroic themed after the rescue workers.

Otherwise it would be like a drop tower themed after a plane crash

I hate to do this, but I have to side with CPgenius on this one. It's the largest and most expensive engineering feat ever undertaken in an urban area, and there have been dozens of documentaries and programs on it over the last several years. Doesn't anyone watch the Discovery channels or PBS any more? Also, a quick google search on "The Big Dig" will turn up hundreds of hits. There's even a video for sale about it over on the History Channel site.

It's definitely significant.

How about a racing coaster called "Too Close To Call," based on the 2000 presidential election. Each side keeps taking the lead, until the very end, where nobody is certain which train won...so they have to race again ;)

APC11, I like how you think!

My point on the Big Dig is that is almost garanteed it will not be in the history books. Why test kids on constuction projects when the same time period has so much more that accutually affected the whole nation? I mean, PlayerPunk hadn't even heard of it! But, it's your park, so you just do what you want! :-)

I'm going to have to agree that any ride that is meant to represent the events of 9/11 is going to be in very bad taste. Some things are just not meant to be made into fun. A memorial would be a better idea.

I always thought Patriot would make a good name for a ride...Maybe it's just that Castles n' Coasters and I think the same way. :)

TOGO!
Is AOL just trying to annoy me?

Boston Tea Party for a shoot-the-chute would fit in, but it's a concept already taken in real life. ;)

I think one big part of it should be like an American Flag made out of footpath. Use the red footpath, the tarmac, and blue-grayish checkered one for the stars. Then have like Pizza stalls and houses around it.

Magnum is Red,
Millenium Force is Blue.
I love Wicked Twister
And Raptor too.

I created a "9-11:The Ride" in my patriotic themed park. The peeps love it!! I used a suspended coaster with airplane cars...check it out

That almost made me sick. you have a red, white and blue coaster crashing into the World Trade Center?

To quote a wise man (I forget his name...) "Sir, have you any sense of common decency?"

Well, now we know how the terrorists got their training. lol

geez man, people from over 50 different countries died that day. Crashes in the game can be fun, but I wouldn't be publishing this... it's just not right
