Sueing your park? - CoasterBuzz

My teacher asked me if I would be able sue my park for an accident. I was stumped cause I would want the revenge and money but hate to sue them. I'm not talking about falling off a coaster or anything extreme. More like you slip in the bathroom or in the station. I don't think i could live with it.

You would want revenge with the park if you're stupid enough to slip in the bathroom?? Sound like you have some issues.

Your going to have a pretty hard time suing anyone unless you can prove negligence.

I;E. They don't try to keep a bathroom clean and dry. and as far as I know rain is a act of god, You going to sue god if a tornado comes?

Chuck, who says that if a ride is capable of hurting you even though you are following the rules, That might qualify and therfore many rides have trims. Nungester

I think your teacher should worry about teaching, and not worry about legal matters that she is ill advised in.

If you were greedy enough to sue over something so stupid, you probably wouldn't care if it was your favorite park or not.

If the park was blatantly neglegent in the upkeep of its rides to the point where people get injured, then yes I would have to sue. It's the frivolous lawsuits that tick me off. I doubt I would sue over slipping unless I somehow paralysed myself.

No, you guys missed the point. Forget the situation, just think about sueing the park. Would you be able to stomach it?

Here's a good example: Your riding X. On your way up the hill your restraint suddenly opens and you fall out. You fall on your leg and brake it. (you didn't fall 200ft, you fell down a couple stairs) Because of the accident Six Flags Magic Mountain will lose X, if you sue. You would be rewarded 2 million(making it up) for damages. Would you sue?!?

I made this up so if it's not accurate just pretend! ha ha. I'm not very good with court situations.

Why in the @?#! would the park lose the ride if you fell down some stairs? That has nothing to do with the ride itself being unsafe. I'm really disappointed that I've responded to this twice. Troll-feeding is not one of my hobbies.

Yes, if it was SFMM I'd sue, now CP, that's another story :)

I would sue the park if something happened to me at the park and it was definately the parks fault. I think anybody sensible would agree with this.

If something happened to me at my home park that I could sue the park over, I'd do it. My well-being comes first...but that doesnt meant I'll stop going to the park =)

If I were involved in a serious accident at a park that involved neglegence by the park, I would try to settle with the park and do whatever I could before it came to sueing.
