Stuck on a Coaster?

Wow, I just guess I'm "lucky."

At SFMW I've been stuck many times. Zonga-1 Roar-4 or 5 (somewhere in that range) Medusa-1 Kong-2 (both in the station!)

SFMM is pretty funny. They're the only place that lets you stay on for the test ride... well at least they did on Superman. It got stuck again just at the base of the tower (where there are a couple of friction brakes) and we sat there for a long time. Funny though, they gave us two rides free of wait once it was working. I've also been stuck on Colossus, Arrowhead Splashdown, and Riddler's Revenge.

At SFOG I only got stuck on Deja Vu. It worked great until we hit the second lift. The lift took us up to the top like usual... but didn't let us go. We sat there for only 30 seconds because the train slowly rolled down to the platform while they fixed the ride. Once it was fixed we went up the tower and completed the course. I couldn't believe they didn't give us a re-ride though! We were stuck for a good 20 minutes!

At MGM Studios we got stuck on Tower of Terror. After the ride ended the car backs out of the shaft and turns to let you off. Well, our car didn't turn. What was cool about it though was getting to see the car behind us going through the drop cycles. Disney even had a little recorded thing in a scary voice telling us the ride was broken down... pretty sweet. When they turned the house lights on we got to walk to the staff elevator and in the process we got the see a lot of cool stuff. Pretty complex ride!

Paramount's Great America- we've been breifly stuck on Invertigo. No biggy, they lower us into the station to let us off. Thank GOD I've never been stuck on Drop Zone.

At Knott's I got stuck on the Tumber about a month before it was removed.

There's more I'm sure just I don't have a great memory.

I've been stuck on three coasters out of 102 that I've been on. Millienniumforce, Shivering Timbers and Deja vue @ six flags Great america

Only time I remember getting stuck was when I couldn't get the lap bar open on Racer.......

Evacuated from X-Flight's lift after park closing time, back in 2001 or 2002 (can't remember).

Stuck on PKI's Vortex once or twice in the rain in the late 80's.

I don't think I've ever told the story about the time I was on Superman at SFA and the lift chain broke.

Twice I've been stuck. Once for about 15 minutes at the top of Drop Zone (that was not fun in the blazing heat), and another on the Flight of Fear final brakes, before the new restraints were put in (even less fun... quite claustrophobic).

My blog You said, "I'm gonna run you down." I heard, "I'm an orangutan."
Been stuck on a few rides:

1. On TTD at the launch part of the ride. Was there for about 10-15 minutes before they came to get us out of our seats.

2. Spaceship Earth at Epcot. Ride stop for about a good 10 minutes in the Rome time period.

3. Pirates of the Caribbean at Magic Kingdom for about 10 minutes towards the exit station.

On closing day 2002, hubby and I got stuck on Raptor (at least it was the front seat) waiting for the train in front of us to leave the station. About 30 minute wait, had to climb out of our seats from where we were.

Millenium Force last season, 10 minutes about 4 feet out of the station.

Just launch the train...and nobody will get hurt!
Stuck on the launch pad of TTD, end of a Friday night in September. No one was really in the park, sat on the launch for 15 minutes. An amazing ride at night. Setting was perfect.

Barberton Ohio- Where fried Chicken Rules!!!

I remeber that my one time at disney i got stuck on the dinosaur ride not sure if thats the rite name or not. they came to the cars and told us tthat there was a computer in our car that malfunctioned and caused all the other computers to shut down. not sure if it was really wat happened cause the ride had just opened that year. we stuck around 15 minutes cause they werent sure about the safety codes and didnt want the thing to turn back on and run us over. the part that sucked was we were just about to go around the corner to where the T-rex(or sum bg lizard) pops out
No coasters, but Spaceship Earth for a good 10 min overall due to stoping now and then, and also Buzz Lightyear ride in Tomorrow Land at WDW, stopped in front of the last "scene" for about 10 min. (Worst part is we couldn't shoot anything because we were.nt lined up :()

There are only 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who dont.
1996, Mantis, stopped on the lift for about 5 minutes, then the midcourse for about an hour. Then the train we released from there and I didn't think the train was going to make it the rest of the way by how very slow it was going, but it finally did, and we finally got to the brake run, but the last two cars of the train didn't make it to the walkway. So a guy with a big wrench had us climb over the front of the car to step on the car in front of us, to get off the train. Hard to explain, but very exciting. Then got to walk to the railroad, and back to the midway. First time I ever got to touch actual live roller coaster track. I'll never forget it.

Adventureland (Des Moines) on the Tornado on Father's Day back in 1996. We went down the first hill and then as we were climbing the next hill the train just stopped. It didn't help that is was very windy at that time and we had a bunch of little kids riding so there was no weight to get us over. We were stuck for about 45 minutes, but the worst part was having to listen to little kids scream and cry that they wanted to get off the ride.

Skol Vikings
Let's shoot us some deer Joe Joe!!!!

I got stuck on Thunderbolt @ Celebration City, but that was a completely awesome experience! There were only 3 on the ride which included me and my mom, well they couldn't get it started again so they were going to have to let us out of the car and climb down the stairs. Well they got the other guy out but me and my mom were still stuck beacue the bar they used diudn't work. They then brought out a little battery and released me, bot not my mom. So it took her about 5 minutes to wiggle out of the bar, then we had to walk down. But while we were still stuck they said "For the inconvenience we will give you pass to skip any line in the park." Well it was a crappy weather day and all the rides were walk on. Me and my mom were able to stay in the front seat for several rounds. I looked the girl in the eye and said "Can't we get a free t-shirt or something, because the lines pass will not do us much good today." Well after we got off we had a $20 dollar coupon to use at any resteraunt in the park. Free dinner!

And that is why CC is almost as great as HW!

Let's see....evacs...

PKI-Beast-been stuck on the first lift for about 15 minutes on the last ride of the night last year. Also, was stuck on the second lift about 15 years ago. We were the 2nd train on lift two (we were at the bottom, 2nd train at the top). The story goes that we just cleared lift one when the computer stopped the ride for a station sensor. For whatever reason, we went right through the MCBR and simple gravity prevented us from getting to close to train 2. It was about 90 degrees and humid. After about 10 minutes in the hot sun, the evacuated our train, drove us back to the station in a van, and had cold water waiting for us. They gave us exit passes. It appeared that the weight of the two trains was too difficult for the lift motor to get started. After emptying our train, they manually sent the 2nd train over the lift.

Holiday World - was evacuated from the Legend during ERT early on Friday evening. I think something was wrong with the lap bar release in the station.

Been stuck on many, many different coasters over the last 25 years. Too numerous to mention...

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
My fear is getting stuck upside down. I get claustrophobic thinking about it. What can happen if you get stuck upside down too long? Vomit? Pass out? Go crazy?

Or even in the prone position on SUF for a long time, as some here have.

Was stuck on the Boss' lifthill at SFSTl for 20 minutes - they got us going eventually

I was stuck on S:UF at CBCon2003 for 15(?) minutes in the pre-station brakes due to a minor breakdown...Laying prone on your chest for that long is not fun. my neck and shins were killing me...

Raptor Pilot, you dont really need to worry about getting stuck upside down, the only way it could happen is if somehow the wheel assembly broke of and started draging the coaster at the right moment to get it stuck on a loop (like Demon) its not very likely. Lifts, and break runs much more likely.

Heres my history:

Early 90s-B:TR SFGAm stuck on the break run in the building for a half hour after riding my first inverted ever.

1998-Splash Mountain WDW stuck at the bottom of the final lift before the drop, heard the buzzards go through their audio loop 3 times and was entertained by a cast member for 1/2 hour.

2000-Spiderman got stuck for 10 mins right after Doc Oc blasted us with the anti gravity gun. Got a front of line pass for that one though

2001-Magnum XL 200 one day got stuck at the bottom of the lift for 15 mins, later that night I got stuck on the break run parallel with the lift for 1/2 hour. That same trip got stuck in the middle of Gemini's lift too.

2002-The Beast got stuck on the 2nd lift for about 10 mins.
