Steel Venom @ Valleyfair!

Hey, I'm new here and I was just wondering why Cedar Fair is giving Valleyfair!'s new coaster Steel Venom only one twist going forward, just like V2 at SFGA. Ive ridden both V2 at SFGA and Wicked Twister and I can say twisting backwards is a LOT funner than twisting forwards. Not to mention Cedar Point is known for their fun original designs (mostly). Does anybody else agree with me? I think Steel Venom should twist backwards and brake going forwards instead, that way it's original and fun.
Sorry, I meant V2 at SFGAm!
I totally agree wickedtwister180!! Valleyfair is my home park, and I can only wish that Steel Venom would have 2 twisting towers!

Cool, I live close to Valleyfair too! 2 twisting towers would be great, would it be too much to ask that they would be higher than Steel Venom's towers are now? Either way that would be really cool!

The answer is obvious. Cedar Fair favors Cedar Point. If Valleyfair got the same coaster, then it wouldn't be unique to Cedar Point.

No thats not the answer. It's actually because they have been having structural problems with WTs back tower. They just decide to go with the original idea with one twisting and one vertical.

Does anyone think that the colors Periwinkle and Light Green fit the name Steel Venom? Because thats what the Impulse is gonna get. I really do not think that the colors fit and it kinda ticks me off, but oh well, I should be happy with what Im gonna get!

The locals in Minnesota are going to love this impulse. Thats all that matters to the bottom line of Valley Fair.

Yes, it basically is a carbon copy of S:UE and V2 at SFGAm but who cares? I know the locals in Chicago love their impulse.

2 superheroes in Gurnee next season? Oh the humanity. :)

I'm sure you all noticed that at the Valley Fair site, the picture of the new Steel Venom is a pic. of Wicked Twister, with the back spike computer inhanced to a staight spike. It's kinda funny if you ask me.

Valleyfair! is my home park and I am quite thrilled about the new impulse! but the color scheme just does not work with the name! Seriously, who would think of the name Steel Venom, and think Periwinkle and light Yellow!

I agree Montu 001! Valleyfair! is also my home park and I also like the thought of an impulse, though it would be nice for a backwards twisting section, but bright yellow and periwinkle do not reflect the name. It's like coloring Wildfire at SDC pink and white, no connection! I think the least Valleyfair! could do would be to make it black and purple or something.
FEEL THE STRIKE- even if the color is a deep purple blue, it certainly does not resemble the name, and besides, ive read on a lot of sites that it is a very light periwinkle, but I agree, its a great thing they are not naming it Wicked Twister!

I still think that Steel Venom should have one twisting backwards tower and one forward tower, though twisting both ways couldn't hurt! Although maybe a half loop in the forward tower might make it more interesting! What do you guys think?
I also agree that Steel Venom should only have one twisting tower. It would take away the novelty of Wicked Twister for Cedar Point as well as Cedar Fair.

It has absolutely nothing to do with CP and everything to do with VF's own management.

The two rides cost almost the same ($9 million vs. $8.5 million -- and at least some of that has to do with CP's demolition needs vs. VF's parking lot construction) and there aren't any height issues that would prevent VF from building a slightly taller model either.

Further proof: Were you aware that before MF was built, VF's WT was the tallest coaster in the CF chain (207 feet)? Or how about the slightly taller combo tower at VF, too? If CP had to be the top dog, would either of those things happened?

WT is 215 ft. (I should know Ive ridden it), not to mention Im not saying CF favors Cedar Point (though i do agree with that statement, 1 coaster every 1 or 2 years for CP while their other parks wait for 4 or 5 for one!?) Im just saying that i agree with Wickedtwister and Steel Venom could and should have a funner and more original layout then Valleyfair! or Cedar Fair is allowing it to have.
