Josh is correct! He should also "select" a different forum subject if this one is torquing him off. Get a grip, pal, there's PLENTY of coaster info all around this site.

If you had followed this thread, you would have seen plenty of differing emotions letting loose around the issues of safety, liability, park's litigation history, etc. etc.

Yes we are straying. But we are also coping. We argued with one another, got irritated, argued some more, and in the end, came out of it as coasterbuzzers...united in purpose!...together in the quest of coaster truth! I think I found an acceptance speech on the floor next to the ballot box.

Sorry, Jeff, I really DID have a mind to discuss liability stories with Spewey, et al, this morning.

All's well here in Palm Beach County...the beer is cold; it's 78 degrees; and we're holding up the world..........

I think I mighta voted for Josh ;).

Seriously, for Josh...back on subject. I noticed your reference to this event being a "freak accident."

Again, if the reporting is accurate (Palm Beach?), the man may have had "problems" and unbuckled himself, got off the ride during its progression, etc. etc.

Just curious as to the nature of calling it a "freak" accident.

Geezzz, I didn't mean to ruffle so many feathers. I was just voicing my opinion like everyone else. I was making more of the fact that some people in here were poking fun at someone who was killed on a ride (whether it was his own fault or not), and saying that if an accident of this nature happened to someone that they know, they wouldn't want people laughing and making fun of it. Why I called it a "freak accident" is because you never hear of someone getting killed on a water ride. Most of the time it's a monster coaster that you go upside-down in. That's all I meant by freak accident bukweetfl.

What is life without ups and downs!?!?
Just havin' some fun, Josh. The feathers are fine.

Great to have someone throw some extra spice in the soup. :)

Interesting, yes, as to your comment regarding accidents on a water ride. I love Spewey's earlier post about the "woman who didn't want to get wet, so she jumps in the freakin' water!"

Special, ain't it?

In normal circumstances I think the rules of "strictly coaster or theme park talk" should be adhered to. However, this is the most talked about thing in our nation since Kennedy was assasinated. I think, as long as we don't get any whackos, that this type of talk should be ok. As it directly affects every person in this form. Whether they live in the USA or not.

You build it, I'll ride it
Indeed, Randy.

And with a little thought, we can weave the sidelight into the subject. My thought here is, we've had a good discussion on the parks and their troubles with assinine litigation efforts from negligent riders, etc.

Ahhhhh, litigation. We even elect on it!
