LONDON, UK – 18 July 2005 – Lions, tigers and bears never had it so good in Atari’s new RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3: Wild!, an adventure-filled expansion pack for RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3, one of the most successful PC games of 2004. Scheduled for release this autumn, RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3: Wild! invites tycoons of all ages to create and manage a safari-themed adventure park featuring all new white-knuckle rides and a host of prowling, untamed beasts.“RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3: Wild! adds an invigorating new dimension to the task of designing the perfect theme park. Not only could your guests find themselves hurtling towards a premature demise if a coaster is anything less than perfect, they now also run the risk of becoming tiger food in the process,” said Cyril Voiron, Marketing Director, Atari Europe. “Frontier have surpassed themselves again, adding a wealth of detail and new features, such as the Show Ride Editor, to create something far beyond what players normally expect from an expansion pack.”
On top of the rides, RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3: Wild! includes customizable animal shows and petting zoos, and characters such as a new VIP, an AnimalKeeper staff member and the Tiger mascot – an RCT favorite. The new Show Ride editor also allows players to recreate the wilderness for a Safari Train Adventure or Paddle-Steam Cruiser. Players can choreograph animal shows using the RCT MixMaster™; test out their tranquilizer dart shooting prowess to recapture an escaped animal, and increase their cash flow through new shops and billboards.
Created by Frontier Developments, Ltd. in conjunction with Chris Sawyer, the creator and sole developer of RollerCoaster Tycoon, RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3: Wild! is scheduled to be released this autumn for the PC. Additional information about the franchise is available at http://www.atari.com/rollercoastertycoon
Ok I once had hope for the series, but WTF! Tranquilizer Darts?! I don't want to shoot darts, I want my idiot peeps to stop buying suntan lotion and haul their butts in line! I really think this expansion pack is derailing from the intended path for Roller Coaster Tycoon.

The entire game it getting too complicated, I really miss the original, it was so fun 'improvising' rides ;)
"RCT Wild: Beacuase there just weren't enough games that let you coreograph animal shows and then shoot the animals."
Too bad I won't be able to play it since I'll have to worry about Darts, and, Hey! They'll probably add the peeing peeps to go along with the animals going potty as well.
Jeesh.
Escaped animals, zoo keepers, a mix master for shows.
What's next? Frickin' sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to heir heads to zap guests?
And what about a Tilt-a-Whirl? A staple at most parks across the country. Is that not too much to ask?
Okay... Now that my initial rant is over... and now that a calmer mind is prevailing... I don't suppose animal exhibits woudl be all that bad. After all, a few parks do have safari and animal areas (but not as many parks that have... oh... let's see... frickin' Tilt-a-Whirls!) But what really concerns me is the fact that it sounds like these animals sometimes escape and have to be hunted down before they maul or eat too many guests. Now there is an every day occurance at most parks!
The bright side... at least these are existing animals... no T-Rex or Raptor escapes.
I can see the message now... "T-Rex is eating Tilt-a-Whirl 1". At least it will not come to that... I mean really... how unrealistic is that! Right... a Tilt-a-Whirl! HA! *** Edited 7/28/2005 12:31:13 PM UTC by SLFAKE***

How about they offer everything that was available in RCT2 before they start moving onto different horizons.
RCT 2 was good because it didn't add anything to the game feel, but added a lot to what the first game was missing. (if only they figured out to make a cool expansion pack for it)
I do like that you can make the monorail and boat tours and even put together shows. In trying to build the ultimate them park I guess this would come in handy if you really want your peeps to do something other than eat and ride...oh yeah and swim and slide.
I mean I can not remember the last time I was a Hersheypark and I got caught in a cross fire of tranquilizer darts when a heard of prarie dogs escaped from ZooAmerica and ran amok through the park, terrorizing the guests.
Its interesting that the initial response on the official website was very negative when it was announced. The cries for new track pieces (and not new coasters) are getting louder and louder.
I see it now, some new carny rides, some new track elements (of course still not enough to build decent replicas) and lots of animal stuff (they have bodily functions as well!) and mixmaster crap which I will never use.
Oh, and it will certainly cost as much as the original game.
grrrrr!, meh, meh!

Really!? That is interesting.
Then again, how could it not be a negative reaction?
I think I need to head over and nose around.
Not only could your guests find themselves hurtling towards a premature demise if a coaster is anything less than perfect, they now also run the risk of becoming tiger food in the process,
Becoming tiger food if your coaster crashes?!?How often do coasters crash in the current game? Is this going to be a common occurance in "Wild!"?
Crashing coasters dumping people into tiger pits... escaped beasties roaming free and being hunted down by keepers with dart guns... I guess I missed the memo on how dangerous our parks really are.
New VIP for the game should be a mini Ed Markey (renamed something like Sen. Mark Eddie).
Scenario Goal for Tycoon Level: Sen.Eddie wants to see a coaster with an excitement rating of 7.00 crash and dump its passengers into the tiger exhibit.

Also when are they adding the RV carnie park option where you get your carnie built up to the ultimate status with the biggest RV,most game trailers owned , and the fewest amount of teeth?
They seriously need to go back to the basics with this game. They need to make a game that plays on most systems and is fun to play.
RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3: Wild! includes ... the Tiger mascot – an RCT favorite.
Whew! What a relief!
We've got fences that can't be put on the edge of paths... we've got a game engine that drags down everything but the top of a line system... but hey... Thank God that the Tiger mascot is back!
Maybe they should simply drop all pretense of this being Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 and retitle it "Tiger Mascot Tycoon!"
And then in the expansion pack (Tiger Mascot Tycoon: Mean Streets) he can have the option of adding a kevlar vest so that he won't be brought down in a hail of tranq darts when a baboon escapes and goes on a rampage!

Well, after many people were whining about the theme, the fanboys took over and whined about the whiners. The typical "how can you whine about the game when you have only seen four screenshots"-stuff.
Quite the opposite of whats happening here.
