So, what coaster is Cedar Point Selling

THey also don't pull stunts like "THIS COASTER (whizzer) IS LEAVING...COME RIDE IT!!!" "Oh wait, we changed our mind all of the sudden ( ;) ;) ), another one is going instead!"

Sort of like the Main Street Electrical Parade's farewell season at Disneyland?

Wildcat is up for sale and its current footprint will be home to the new 40-seat S&S Screaming Swing next season.

i could see it happening, that midway lacks a flat ride, however i always though they would get rid of wildcat, the ant. cars, and the ceaders to build a coaster along the lake

buildings can be painted, so I don't see DT going anywhere soon. They just did some work on wildcat so I don't see them moving that and Headspin is definately staying. and are you sure it's a Coaster that's being sold? I could easily see something like WWL being sold. And doesn't this go back to the topic of what's going on in the CCMR area with all the markings on the ground. It makes one think, that's for sure.

In light of an article I read yesterday regarding Cedar Fair underestimating the drawing power the animals had on GL, maybe they will sell off a few of GL's coasters?
Just a thought. *** Edited 8/12/2005 1:45:28 PM UTC by FLYINGSCOOTER***

GL doesn't need to sell any coasters to bring the animals back. All the old stuff from Sea World is still there. Like the bird building/shark attack building. And I know the whale tunnel is still there because I have heard people talking about cleaning it out. But I think that's something to do with an underwater Jet Ski track. Now these are just somethings I have heard. Another point I have is there is so much land that GL has that they could just move a few coasters and bring back the animals.

That's based on?? Honestly, I can't think of another coaster in the entire chain (save for the Boomers at WoF and Knotts') that *should* be sold/removed any more than GL's. They only take up space that SHOULD go to something DECENT...and HeadSpin IS in the area being used for *waterpark expansion*...looks like a goner to me (not that I'm as diappointed as I might be if it were something even REMOTELY decnt, LOL)... :)

Do you KNOW something about GL/CF and this whole "coaster for sale" business? Please share... ;)

It wouldn't bother me if they take out the monorail and Headspin. Don't get me wrong, I actually like it (twas my first boomer, and I actually like them), but they could take out those 2 things, as well as all the water stuff and have a nice piece of land. I personally don't like how Headspin is just all up on Supes...err...Steel myself. It just isn't pleasing to the eye. Like they were just plopped down in RCT.

If they removed a few things along with all the waterpark stuff, then made a complete circle around to the watepark...They'd have a nice bit of land for major expansion. A nice Darkride (preferably Sally or something like DarKastle & Spidey), maybe a spinny coaster, and some new, interesting flats?

I don't really see how this makes any sense. It's already painted in a color that doesn't hurt your eyes and it's still an eyesore. Unless they paint it with invisible paint, it's going to be ugly.

As for which coaster may be going, my guess goes to either Headspin at GL or Wildcat at CP. I wish it were Meanstreak, but that's just wishing.

Yeah is Good!
first thing, Headspin is *not*, I repeat *not* in the way of the waterpark expansion. They are removing the waterpark in the front of the park. That means the old Turtle Beach area, the wave pool and the slides in the front are going to be completely gone. Instead a new wave pool and some more water slides will be expanded onto Wildwater Kingdom. That means the whole area where the water park is now will have land to build something new. I know all these things because I *do* work at GLP. There are somethings I won't say becuase of confidentiality information, but since a guy from Cedar Fair told my dad(a guest) somethings that will happen to the park, I think I should share them with you.

-RWB is getting it's retracking done, along with some new wheels and springs for the train.

-Most of the coasters are getting their wheels, springs and all the nice stuff that makes the trains run smooth replaced.

-Mr. Hydes will be shut down next year and be completely rehabbed. (which I think is a waste of time and money, they should tear it down and put in a ride like Power Tower or Drop Zone.)

-And none of the coasters are going anywhere anytime soon.

Wasn't Mr. Hyde completely rehabbed last year, which is why it was down most of the year?
no, it was because that thing is a hunk of junk. It's been down most of this year too, but it isn't being rehabbed. It's just a trash ride that's all. Not saying I don't mind riding it, but I would like to see it run..er...more regularly.

But since it isn't a 'coaster,' their spokesman was correct--in purely technical terms.

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

interesting, if DD is going i would first thing the swing will go there, however.... you could use that area+beach+parking lot+the picnic pavillion area to build a fairly large coaster....only $250,000 for demond drop, i wonder how much they paid for it new

....and o yea, who says this is the only thing being sold? im sure we could still see a coaster go, who knows *** Edited 8/15/2005 8:16:08 PM UTC by jar***

It's like a car or furniture. You're never gonna get back what you paid for it new.

2.5 million new

You have caught on that HR was trying to be entertaining and failed at it with that story, right?

Hydes is Also for sale.

I don't want to lose my Monorail, though. :(

yeah I know...it was just something I decided to post. Anyhow. now you know which ride is going. And I don't know if your monorail is safe anymore. It seems as if none of the rides are safe anymore. I could just imagine a conversation between Dick Kinzel and Bill Sphen. "Bill, the Bel-air doesn't have a very good hourly total. We need to do something so more people will ride it, but I don't want to spend a lot of money." "Well I'm trying my best sir." "That's not good enough, try harder or that will be the next ride sold."
