So, what coaster is Cedar Point Selling

If they were to remove a ride between both parks, Head Spin makes the most sense. But, Wildcat could also go in favor of a Gerstelaurer spinner or better yet, a Maurer spinner!

Funny you bring up SFNE's Roller Soaker Gator, I was explaining that story today to SpecialEd as an example of rumors and reports getting out of hand ;)

I'd say Headspin because it'd be easy to move. It just isn't practical to move something like Double Loop, Mean Streak, or to a lesser extent, Disaster Transport.
If you see it on the Internet, it's gotta be true. It's just gotta.

Wildcat is easier to move than is HeadSpin, due to the fact taht it just sits on a concrete pad and has no real footing. Both the current and prior Wildcat were traveling designed rides.

Wildcat is one of my favorite rides at CP.

I want one.

Well, it just might be for sale. Go kick the tires!

Without really knowing anything about the whole deal, my best educated guess would be the HeadSpin at GL.

- Seems like they are clearing that area of the park
- Maintenance issues
- Low popularity

I agree, Wildcat is one of the better coasters at Cedar Point. Why get rid of it? It's not like it takes up a lot of space.
And if they needed WC's plot of land, they could always just move WC in the park...
Right. I have a feeling that the park was visited to look at a certain TYPE of coaster. And has it been confirmed that they visited Cedar Point and not Geauga Lake?
I don't see what the enthusiasm is in taking down the Wildcat. I think it's a pretty cool ride. I wouldn't travel across country for it, but it adds character to the park. While I wouldn't like to see any coaster torn down, I would say Disaster Transport would be the prime candidate just because the building is an eye sore on the midway. I still think it's a fun ride, though.

I think it's important that Cedar Point continues to have a variety of coaster intensities for riders of all ages. Six Flags could never match Cedar Point when it comes to this. It appears that half of them don't even attempt to keep their family rides, like The Whizzer. A couple years after the demand to keep it up stopped the wrecking ball from hitting it, they're already considering tearing it down again. I don't want to see Cedar Point get anywhere near this kind of mind set.

If they want to tear down the Wildcat, I think they should only do it because they figure a Mad Mouse would be a better fit. I say keep Wildcat and add a Mad Mouse somewhere else. I don't need a 500ft coaster.

well apparently nothing is being sold, so everyone could calm down now. ;)

CP was amazing, going back next June to ride Maverick

Officially, anyway.

(Sorry, I just can't resist throwing gas on the fire.)

I wonder which one is 'unofficially' for sale? :)
The second part of the question should be...

"and what are they going to replace it with?"

Good call, Tekno!
Well Cedar Point can't have the ride for sale if it has already been sold, now can they? ;)

The statement said that no COASTERS were for sale. This still leave the table open for White Water Landing, which i wouldn'd be suprised if a reporter mistook it for a coaster.

Lets also keep in mind that CP can pride themselves on being so upfront and brief with their fans.

CP does not pull stunts like saying something is not officially for sale, then SURPRISE! We sold one anyway! They are very true to their word about what they do, or do not, engage in.
