Six Flags over Texas announces S&S tower

As opposed to Power Tower? What a unique name they came up with. LOL!!!

This won't be the first time someone stole "Power Tower". Legoland in CA already has a kid power tower.

Don't forget the Tower of Power horn section... while completely unrelated to thrill rides, they had that name back in the 70's.

This is more than a "drop" tower. It launches riders up (like the shot side of Power Tower), THEN shoots them down (like the drop side of Power Tower). Two in one.

Chitown, my main complaint is the fact that the name just smells of typical Six Flags laziness. Sure the name is marketable, but how confusing is it when you have thirty (guess) some rides all named Superman. I am big into originality and creativity, and to me, this is juts more S.F. laziness and uncreative.

Anyone know how tall Riddlers Revenge at WBMW Madrid is (I only know the metric stats and I don't know how to convert it)? That was fun & identical to this plan lol (well not the height I guess).

I thought it was 313' tall? Not that that is a huge difference, but accurate stats are nice and all.

CPLady, how many towers run the combo program? Where did you hear what it would run (since the announcement was pretty...lacking)? Thanks!

EDIT, nevermind, just read the article...weird. That makes it sound like all three towers are going to run the combo program.

OMG...its a brand new S&S Combo Tower! Who frickin cares what they name it or how they paint it?

And it will not be confusing to the general public as I'd guess the majority of them either do not know or do not care that there's another park they'll probably never visit with another ride themed to Superman or Batman. And it won't be confusing to us because there is no other drop ride abbreviated as STOP [and that, in itself, it pretty g-damned funny!].

I'm with ya on this 'Moosh.I don't care one bit about names,theming,ect. My favorite park,PNE/Playland,has little or no theming. They have some great rides,though.

Bottom line;is the ride fun?!

So we know this is all Space Shot (refer to article).

Nevermind that the manufacturer of the ride is called "S&S POWER". Gee, I never would have thought that a catchy name could be devised by combining the words from a TOWER-style ride, made by a company with POWER in the title ! Six Flags AND Cedar Fair were both lazy and unoriginal with this one. Deal with it. Ride it. Enjoy it. Fark the name.

That is the dumbest name I've ever heard, that's worse than naming a rollercoaster, Rollercoaster. Hopefully the tower will be white, not like a giant, yellow or red nuisance in the sky.
