I doubt it will be a Dutchman. I am seeing a Small B&M Floorless. How long is B:KF? Oh well. I still can't believe sfne guy hasn't responded to this;)

The first thing I thought when I saw 120-foot was a CCI woodie, but then I remembered CCI's relationship with Six Flags parks...so who knows.

Your best? Losers are always whining about doing their best...winners go home and ******* the prom queen.
UGHH!! IT HAS LOOPS! IT'S 199% NOT A WOODEN COASTER!!! GIVE IT UP GUYS!
Clearly the article is referring to height when it says "100 feet shorter than Superman." If it is indeed refferring to length, then that is very odd way of saying it; the general public aren't familiar with the length of Superman as much as they are with its height. Anyway, I'm hoping it's a B&M: a floorless, a standup, or a flying.
Hmm, here's something I find extremly funny, unless this is a 125ft kiddie coaster with loops. Read this excerpt from the Union News article...
"The installation of the new coaster by Six Flags will not increase attendance at the park, and as a result, existing traffic conditions at the park will not be affected by the installation of the new coaster," said the proposal.
Now, I'm all for a new coaster, and really don't care about traffic, as I live 20 min away and can go anytime, BUT, what type of coaster does not attract more people?
Heh, just thought I'd point that out...
-Chris
vacoasterfreak: I never realized it but that is a good guess, a B&M inverted. It makes sense too. I really don't care what it is. As long as we get something that works I'll be happy.
Mind Eraser is still on the plans. So, they're not removing it so, a B&M Invert is highly unlikely. However, Colussus and the log flum are not present on the plans for the new coaster. However, these plans are for 2001, so a few ideas could have changed. But it is steel, has a few loops/corkscrews... It apparently will take up the area of the little employee parking lot, the ferris wheel and log flume's are also. Along with some space near Island Kingdom not used for parking. I would guess a flying dutchman custom layout at this point. It seems to me that it would almost be a waste of money to build a B&M that is only 125 feet high, wether it be a floorless, or standup... It could be some new concept, and perhaps a B&M flyer, I mean who knows? It seems to me if it was Vekoma it would not be custom as all 3 flying dutchmans are basically the same, I know stealth is a little different. But we'll all see in only 2 more days!! Can't wait! -Chris
I'd say either a custom-built SLC or Flying Dutchman. But I'm 100% positive that it will be from Vekoma.
Well, you know so much ruffryder, that it will be from Vekoma huh? Well, I guess you missed out on a little detail, that is SFNE already has a SLC. Nice try though... Im not saying it not a vekoma, its just tht your a 100% positive it is, and your suggesting a SLC, when they already have one...
Could this be an LIM coaster like Batman & Robin the Chiller at SFGA. I've ridden it several times and not only is it awesome but I beleive it's right around the 120 ft mark. Heres hoping!!!!!
I would say with that track length it probably isn't a shuttle.
Panic: I think what SFI is implying is that they feel they have reached all the "thrillseekers" in the area with the Superman coaster. Basically saying that anyone who would be enticed by a new coaster already came out when Superman was opened. So there are no "extra" people left who would get giddy at this smaller coaster. Now they just need a reason to bring those riders BACK to the park.
Steel: Chiller is around 200ft tall if I'm not mistaken
HXLC: The measurement they were speaking of in the article was height not track length.
I'm still pretty much leaning to the Dutchman or Standup, with slightly more weight on the stand up.

I know that but the people that were posting stuff near the top of the page said that the track length was 5300 feet.

hypersonicXLC writes to me:
"Sorry Mamoosh, I meant how do you know about the new B&M flyer?"
Someone told me about it.
If 'Moosh is right about a B&M Flyer coming to America next year as well as to Alton this could be a strong possibility...The B&M Flyer is supposed to be launched, thus, wouldn't need a very tall point on it's track and could easily be a mile in length.

SRM 2001: No Lights! No Brakes! No Bell?!
It's 100% a B&M... Sources found out. So either a standup or flyer... Doubt floorless.. - Chris
Colin W:
The B&M flyer at Alton has a lift. No launch. Sorry.
And to everyone else:
PLEASE stop it with the length comments. The article mentioned NOTHING about the length of the coaster. Contributor "Belgian" made an incorrect assumption based on a height stat in the article.

They say it won't increase attendance at the park because they are otherwise expecting attendance to DROP if they don't build anything.
Still, sheesh, it takes a B&M coaster to keep attendance at an even level? You'd think some flat rides and new shows might accomplish that oh-so ambitious goal. In reality, Six Flags would LOVE for attendance to increase, but have made that statement to placate concerned neighbors who don't want more traffic in the region.
And damn people, use some common sense. Suggestions that it might be a wooden coaster or a SLC are just preposterous.
Fierce:
I agree with you that the "won't increase attendance" claim just sounds odd. I think it's just a ploy by the park to get this passed without problems. Name a park that adds ANY new attraction and doesn't promote the hell out of it to increase attendance. But hey...whatever it takes.
