Six Flags New England 2002 coaster plans posted

The plans for the new roller coaster scheduled to open at SFNE next spring have been posted at Theme Park New England. From the look of things it is some kind of a B&M with a vertical loop, dive loop, and interlocking corkscrews. The heavily themed ride will top off at 117 feet and feature an enclosed queue.

Lets get one thing straight right now. If the first drawing (not schematic) is anything more than 1% accurate, it will NOT be an inverted. The chain return is on the bottom, not top. With that cleared up...
... It might be a stand up. So what if it has interlocking corkscrews? To me, if I have it's location right, the turnaround between them looks like it would be a bit larger than BKF's, so it could be handled by riders standing up. It would be cool if it was a stand-up, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. I think stand-ups are great (even though I've only ridden Iron Wolf) and more should be built. It probably will be a floorless though.

And some of you are talking about how because it's not 150+ ft, it would be blah. Your spoiled. Thats all I can say. You don't need to have a tall coaster to have a good coaster. I wish parks would ask B&M to design rides more like Iron Wolf, and stop focusing on inversions. Inversions are great, but twists, turns, and drops are better.

Well one thing's for sure: Now that I've seen the layout I highly doubt it's the flying coaster I had predicted. Looks like the US might only get one next year...unless Six Flags has something else up it's sleeve.
Those of you having problems loading in Netscape4 might want to consider either upgrading to a newer version of Netscape or using a "better" browser like IE - just a suggestion. BTW, my bet is on floorless (sorry Flying B&M fans, that'll probably go to a "bigger" SF park).

Stand-up, Floorless, or sitdown it doesn't make any difference to me as long as it gives a good ride.

Any one know how long the coaster is?
about 2600 ft
Its a Floorless.
could someone please post the site these plans are on, i cant seem to find them. thanx
also, i dont think its a FD because SFNE said they werent trying to attract more crowds, but rather keep the ones they have. if they got a FD it would attract lots of people being the only one around. i dont think its a floorless either because about 4 hours away there already is one at SFGA, and i think it would make the most sense to say SFNE is getting SFA's canceled stand-up coaster, although i do hope its a FD! *** This post was edited by sourmastermind7 on 8/28/2001. ***
Gatorwoodie, you dont think a park with 7 coasters one of which is the number two coaster in the planet is a large park. New England is an awsome six flags park if you've ever been there.

There is a small chance it could be a flying coaster because it isn't as big or long as it should be. And B+M did talk about the outside interlocking corckscrews on Air in Alton Towers.

But my bet is floorless, it could easily hit about a 140ft drop if it dips underground. It is a bit short though.
