Six Flags New England 2002 coaster plans posted

Posted | Contributed by themeparkne

The plans for the new roller coaster scheduled to open at SFNE next spring have been posted at Theme Park New England. From the look of things it is some kind of a B&M with a vertical loop, dive loop, and interlocking corkscrews. The heavily themed ride will top off at 117 feet and feature an enclosed queue.

I am guessing floor-less, it will probably be called BKF, or B:TR. Heavily themed, means probably a Gotham City themeing, and the floor-less in WB park has a camelback where the brake run would be, so that is my guess.

Just because it is not 150+ft. doesn't mean it's not a B&M. With all the floor-less coasters being bought by SF Inc. I am guessing it is one.

I hope it's not Batman themed because the coaster will not be located in the DC SuperHero Adventures section of the park. It wouldn't be right. I'm not saying Six Flags won't do it (they've done it before), but it wouldn't be right.

I tend to think it'll be a floorless after more carefully reviewing the evidence. I think the straight section could be a Zero-G Roll or a bunny hop like Superman in Madrid.

An inverted is out of the question because they already have one (just not a good one), and a floorless at 117ft would be kinda blah (they could call it mini Medusa) so I think we are looking at a stand up. Without the height factor, maybe this WILL be the worlds first interlocking looping stand up
I agree I think its a stand up.
most stand-ups (Mantis, Chang, RR) built by B&M have an inclined loop.
Wow! This is great news! I'm pretty sure it'll be a standing. This could be the first standing coster with interlocking corskrews. Also, I think that a zero-g roll is not out of the question. Why would there be a brake run on a B&M coaster that short in length and height. Plus, there have been zero-g rolls on other B&M standings (Vortex at one of the Paramount's parks). Keep your hopes up!!! As for the themeing. It's not even going to be in the Super heros place. Isn't it next to Mind Eraser? Don't worry, I think the name and themeing will be original.
Does anyone else think that second inversion is NOT a diving loop? Look closely at the angle you enter and exit a diving loop. You exit 90 degress from where you entered. For example, if you enter from the left of the screen, you will exit at the top or bottom. Just look at the picture of Kumba above. This inversion exits 180 degrees from where it entered. Immelman? I don't know. Just wanted to bring up the point
Why does everyone think it's a standup? Can anyone truly confirm what type it is? The so called experts are spinning a web of speculation from Boston to Foxboro....

I doubt very much it would be a stand-up with those tight corkscrews, which have appeared on every floorless I can think of so far.

It could also be a sitdown since they also have interlocking corkscrews, and there isn't a sitdown B&M in the northeast, and im not including floorless. As for that straight section after the turn through the loop, i believe is a zero-g roll because I have seen what one looks like on blueprints, and it is just a straight line, only it says zero-g roll, or block brakes. My guess is a zero-g roll, but we will have to wait and see i guess.
i think if it is a stand up it would have a inclined loop.
Strong-G turn on a standup? Isn't that a bad idea or something?

A bad day at Cedar Point is better than a good day at work.
Has anyone thought that this may some sort of new creation from B&M. Or maybe it's just a small coaster that tops out at 55 mph.

The page that has the plans is yet another page that doesn't load in Netscape 4. Does anyone know why? (I loaded the page in Explorer instead).
I had the same problem, don't know why.
I think it could be two things 1 a florless coaster with a 20 ft deep underground tunnel or the rumered Flying coaster going to a uncomfirmed six flags parks "by the way the 20 ft tunnel is possible and itwould make it 140ft tall just like mudusa just closer to the ground and part under ground.
To me it does look like a standup. Though, the small "straight" line between the verticle loop and the diving loop looks a little curvy, yet prob. too short for anything. For the theme, even though it's outside the DC Superhero... it seams to resemble a batman themed ride. That round thing in the front might be somthing...

I notices a few theming things after I sharpened the pics on PSP. Just after the verticle loop, there is a line that says "Themed portal", sounds cool. At the bottom of the first drop, their is a box that says "Themed Walls..." It also says "Themed Walls" on that curve on after the straight away. And "Landscaped Area" to the left of it. I'm guessing that these areas dip under ground. It doesn't say it, but i'm also guessing those lines before the second corkskrew dips a third time.

Mabye it's Medival themed... Near the top it says "Fort Location" Here's one that gets me wondering, in the caption just above that seams to say "Matrix Exit".

We'll just have to wait and find out.
Seems like a floorless to me.
